Growing in apartment: too risky?

do you think its too risky?

I would use one of those PC cases to grow it in which supposedly eliminate the smell. I only need to grow enough for personal use (I smoke like 1/8 a week or so)

its only risky if you feel it is.

seriously.

and if you feel confident its not risky, pretend its risky. lol.

and use carbon filters.

en eighth a week? Why even go through the hassle of growing/possibility of dealing with authorities when you're only spending 30 bucks a week?

I usually end up buying 1-2 dimebags a day. Depending on how much money i pull together, i'll buy larger amounts

save $$$ and I am moving across country a few months from now where i will have no connection.

1/8 costs like $60 up here also. add that times 4.5 and you are looking at 1/2 my rent just buying weed ($550 rent). So its a combo of not having a dealer, and saving money (moving without having a job lined up)

even at $30 a week thats $1500 a year. most people would like to save that much money every year. also, its an amount that growing 1 plant at a time could possibly keep up with as well. if you smoke half an oz + a week its pretty hard to be producing that yourself on a constant basis. an ounce every couple of months on the other hand...

it's possible in a pc case (1~4 plants). simply get a 100watt clear bulb, 2 fans intake/outake+filter, and a water pump. i'd do it but the quality of bud isn't that good

You arent gonna get anything out of a PC case LED grow, especially if its your first time growing. You can grow in an apartment, but your gonna need some kinda exhaust for ventilation. Use a 250w or 400w HID in a closet. You can grow 4 big plants under a 400w HID and the smell is minimal, you wont even need a carbon scrubber, depending on how well it goes, you can end up yielding an ounce or more per plant.

its not really anymore risky but that's somewhat irresponsible considering if you leave and it catches fire you are endangering others.

any idea how many things can cause a fire? got a way better chance of burning something down with a cigarette butt, and burning things down with a cigarette butt is impossible without some good tinder. not to mention how many more people are tossing cigarette butts around willy nilly versus the people growing weed in their apartments.

perhaps you should consider a job as a politician?

^The risk of fire is pretty negligible with a little cupboard grow. It's when you start wiring up big rooms and stealing power that it gets risky.

friend is doing same thing, hes alone in basement appartment tho, works good, fucking good northern lights.

i tried growing a handful of plants a while ago, they got about a foot tall but i had to get rid of them because my girlfriend said she could smell them down the hall as soon as you got off the elevator on my floor. but that was just a handful of plants on a table, no filtration or anything.

there's a small but not insignificant chance that a maintenance person or building manager will go into your apartment at some point to fix something, etc and discovering your grow. and as was said above, if you don't deal with the smell you might also arouse suspicions.

it's risky, but whether or not it's "too risky" depends on your willingness to accept risk, as well as the consequences of being caught where you are.

^Well said. Growing dope is illegal, and there will always be a risk. Whether or not the profit is sufficient reward is ultimately down to you.

I cant stress enough THE IMPORTANCE OF CARBON FILTERS for neutralizing odor.

A friend of mine is currently growing 6 plants, White Russian strain, and they are 3 weeks old.
they havent even sexed yet, and they fucking reek of weed.

that earthy, musky, dank, greeeeeeeeeen smell of ganja.

OUTSIDE the growroom you cant smell shit, but step inside that place and the smell of ganj smacks you upside
the head....

Dont skimp on carbon filters. They will pay for themselves AND cover your ass in the long run.

peace,

^How do they pay for themselves? They're a prudent security measure, but that's all.

^But they don't reduce your running costs to a point that you recoup the investment, which is what is usually meant when we talk about something "paying for itself".
