Hello!

I am an RN, hence firmly believe in better living through pharmaceuticals. I am exaggerating a touch for comedic effect, so allow me to introduce the ball busting wise cracking side of me... the side most people get to see. I am an ER trauma nurse, and those of you in the field, or similar work know that most of us have an obscure dark sense of humor...keeps you going during the rough patches. That said, sometimes I actually become teary eyed and overwhelmed when we run a code smoothly and almost every frakking time we let go of differences and work together as one bad ass team smoothly .... I'm talking about work, but that applies to all aspects of life actually.

So, I have relocated to the Bay area and jobs are scarce. I fell on a bit of hard luck, and am now in a serious crunch to get a job or get something going... it has been a good 10 months since I walked out of a travel job ...8o

I have THE WORST ADD in the world, not to mention some seriously debilitating impulse control problems, almost to the point of receiving disability. I punked off in court the other day cuz I was frustrated to be in arraignment when I had cleared the stupid ticket up 6 mo previous, and bastard threw the book at me. I now have a jury trial set for not turning on a blinker when making r turn... punked off to the cops then too. When I had health insurance I was on meds, but for over a year I wisely (NOT) have been self medicating with street meds similar to ADD tx's... side note, it was trying street drugs that sort of clued me in to what meds could help me study better and organize my life, prior I was a REAL WRECK... now I'm just a hot mess...

I will be taking a Urine screen tomorrow, and have had no break in daily medication schedule. I am considering taking bicarb since my screen only holds one metabolite ...

If I had the patience and time and money I would study nuero chemistry. Dopamine and my relationship with it fascinates me. BTW, my Dad has Parkinson's so he to has dopamine issues. We he has occasional hallucinations from his meds that scare him, .... as do I....
It is that fascination and desire for better understanding, as well as hoping to get some advice... that lead me to this site. At this point in my understanding looking at the molecular structure is less informative than reading the descriptions, and often my searches lead me to paces that are to clinical for me to follow.

So, that's the brief ME!
Hi and thanks for reading, looking forward to spending more time!

I love it when people put the effort in for lengthy intros.

Welcome to BL.

I've read your other posts and I like the cut of your jib.

What's your favourite part of the site so far?
