Green Dragon (merged)

Hmm I only read the first couple of replys but I don['t feel like reading the rest so Ill just post what I do with making Green Dragon.

All you need is..
Everclear
Kind bud (you can use swag too I guess...hah)

stick like 1/8 or more in the bottle of everclear. Let that soak for like 4 days. Then take a coffe filter or any other filter and drain the everclear through it, that way you will get all the bud out. Then you will have a nice size bottle of green slaming dragon.
 
I am planning on making green dragon with marijuana stems only, no bud. But instead of drinking it I want to evaporate the alcohol and smoke the left over THC. What would be the best alcohol to do this with, so I don't end up smoking whatever else is left behind from the alcohol after evaporation? I am planning on either using everclear or 95% isopropyl alcohol. Would isopropyl alcohol or everclear leave anything behind when evaporated that would have any negative effects if smoked? And how much stems would I need to get about 5 people high? I have at least a half ounce of stems, but I think 1-2 ounces would be better, since stems have such low THC content.
 
The only things that would be left behind from the alcohol is water.

95% isoprpyl alcohol means 5% water.

"Super G Brand 91% isopropyl alcohol
active ingredients: Isopropyl alcohol
other ingredients: Water"

The stuff is basically medical grade, the only impurity being H20.

You can also purify the alcohol a little bit by pouring it through a filter that has some espom salt in it. The water is more atrracted to the salt than the alcohol if my junior college is right. Also keep in mind people clean there pipes and bongs with isopropyl alcohol. It is actually recomended. The only problem with isopropyl that you'd have is the fumes it gives off during evaporation. That can't be good for your lungs and mucous membranes. Alchol easily catches on fire and hampers waters ability to put said fire out. To be extra cautious, have baking soda near by.

Pure THC is a bit of wishfull thinking, Hash or a Hash oil is far more likely to be your product.

With regards to your stem question, thc content for some stems I've found have been realitively high. I'd rather smoke a nice crystaly KB stem than any amount of shwag. Think of it this way, a stem is about 1/10th the potency of bud by weight. 10 grams (about 3/8ths) of stems would be roughly equal to a gram of bud. And that gram realilistically is only 3% - 7% THC or 30 - 70mg of pure thc per gram of material, a stem would have 10% of that or 3 - 7mg THC per Gram of material. To put that into perspective, marinol comes in 2.5mg doses for apetite stimulation and 5mg for chemotherapy.
 
a few things that i don't believe have been mentioned...

if you are going to soak the weed in alcohol rather than heating it, it takes approximately 2 months for all the thc to be absorbed. its best to let it soak in amber colored jars.. if you only have clear jars, leave it in a dark place. either way, make sure the containers are air tight and very thoroughly cleaned before you start.

i still dont know how much weed i need for 50 ml, if i only need 1/5 of a gram to get me high(smoking). (im planning on tripping 2 times off this mix so how much weed do i need to mix in 25 ml?) also will it take shorter time for this to be ready since im using less weed than everyone else on here?keep in mind im using 80 proof alcohol and i only need 1/5 gram (smoke) to get high.

Well, take a gram and let that soak for a while (it will take about the same time, unless you cook it up) in the vodka. That's about it.. :)
 
Brought this back so i don't get yelled at and told to sue the search engine.
So I know this experiment works, but i was wondering if anyoen could give me insite. My frine dpointed somethign out: thc needs heat to work properly. How does the alcohol allow ti to work effectivley without use of heat??
 
Hey could you make grren dragon with absynthe and then do the lighting sugar on teaspoon with it? hehe that culd be pretty damm lethal :D
 
I am going to give this a shot... was wondering if anyone else wanted to share any of their experiences with Green Dragons? Also are there any different recipes or thing si should know before trying to make Green Dragons that hasn't been previously mentioned?
 
Hey we made some of this last week. We put 1/8 of stems and a quarter bag of shake in a pint and let sit for a week. This shit was good. I recommend this fully. Damn i love it, we have already another stem and leftover stash.

But this shit is nasty!!! I suggest get a pint and soak it if just a few of you is drinking it. More per shot.

Do this everyone, you'll be stoned. We timed it takes at the longest out of the four of us 30 minutes. We took 2 before the party and was strait for like 2 1/2 hrs.

do you plan on using stems or actual pot?
It's classic to use a shitload of stems. It's why I always save mine. And then toss in a twin or so and let that to sit.

Well it needs to be heated in a fat, or dissolved in a solvent.

Other recipes are: heating in yoghurt, milk. I'm going to try making weedcheese once, too :)

depends upon how big the shots are. the rule is from 1/2 to 1 gram of weed per ounce of alcohol.

sub-boil it for about 15-20 minutes, don't boil, be extremely careful with heating alcohol, no open flames, etc.

yeah, 7up or something. :)

and use everclear, at least something very high proof.

when you say 1/2 gram of weed are we talking about schwag or headies? Also when I am boiling the weed would it roughly be 14 shots (ozs) for 7 grams?

Has anyone tried running the finished product through a activated charcoal filter (ex. britta water filter) to remove some of the color and foul taste/odor of this drink? I dont think the filter would remove any THC since its bound to the alcohol molocules in my understanding of the process. It could potentially make it alot less foul.

Brilliant idea. I've not tried making any yet, but I plan to early next week. I'll post my findings on how it turns out. If it's too terrible I may research the charcoal thing and try it in future experiments.

I plan to use about 1-2 oz trimmings, maybe an 1/8 of buds. Chop it all up finely put it in an Erlenmeyer with about 350 mL or so of Spiritus, sub boil on hot plate for about 1/2 hour, cool and bottle. Will post results when I complete it.

When you say wait a week or so, do you mean after heating it in the flask for a while, agitating frequently, that I should allow it to sit in the flask for a week before straining and bottling?

Now that you mention it, that does sound like a better idea, if that's what you mean. So, I'll do the heat thing, cool it, cover the flask and let it sit in there for a week or so, in the dark, agitate it every 2-3 days, then strain and bottle. Right?

I have plenty of time to think about it, as I ordered some grain alcohol and absinthe (3 bottles or various brands/makes) to be shipped to me. So it should be Monday-Wednesday before it arrives.
 
I've been told by frineds in the past that if you let the bud sit in cold water overnight, it washes allot of the chlorophyll out (reducing the nasty taste). And then use the "washed" bud to make Green Dragon.

Anyone heard or know if this is true?
