It depends on what school you're trying to get into, I think. Better schools will require higher scores.

Level of financial support is also relative to a good GRE score. I didn't have to actually teach anything because of my score (although I did miss out on getting teaching experience on my resume at that point). But I also didn't have to get up to teach an 8am freshman class either.

Depends on the school you are applying for. Some schools don't even require GRE.
