if no ones already suggested it. i know for a fact that you can find a medium sized maglite at like walmart or somewhere. you can leave the handle on to make the bubbles go through water, or just take it off and use the emptied out top(take the bulb and glass off). it fits perfectly in any two liter. just a suggestion tho, good luck

hot or cold?
im going to use a gravity bong for the first time by myself(used it with friends before) and i was wondering what type of water is better to use?
does one way make the smoke smoother than the other?
i know you can put some ice in there as well, so im just wondering which is the best method.

Either will work. Some say using really hot water is said to make the smoke kind of moist and somewhat easier to take. Others say ice cold is the way to go.
I say, try both ways and do whichever you like more.

after going to my friends house and smoking only a g out of his gravity bong between 3 people, i think its safe to say that they are the best smoking instrument. smoke out of a vaporizer. more thc conserved that way, because you lose thc no matter how low the temperature of burning is. vaporization is the most efficient way to get high, and it's rather fun to just sit in a room with a volcano running and not worry about someone hogging the weed while you're fucked off your ass. makes a good sleep aid too.

Call them buckets in the uk and you can just knock up a gauze out of a piece of tin foil and rest it on the top.
They're great cos they're so simple to make, all you need is tinny, water, and a coke bottle plus they're almost as good as hot knives at getting you stoned.
Granted using tin foil probably fucks your lungs big time but when you smoke soap bar half the time anyway who gives a fuck?

the only system i know which uses gravity apart from buckets is wen u get a large soft drink container, attached conepiece into lid, fill up with water and put a small hole in the bottom, as water draines out light your cone. there are easier, smoother and better ways to smoke imo

They way I would do it is as follows:
1. Get a gallon milk jug (or a 2 liter bottle)
2. Cut off the bottom half
3. Get something to use as a screen (tin foil etc.)
4. Load weed into screen (before putting on top of milk jug)
5. Put the bottle under water but leave the top un-submerged.
6. Place screen onto top of bottle carefully. (top as in part where the drink is poured out)
7. Hold a flame over the weed as you slowly and carefully raise the bottle out of the water.(do not completely pull the bottle out of the water)
8. Once it is full of smoke, carefully remove the screen.
9. Put your mouth around the top of the bottle (where the screen was) and push the bottle back down into the water as you inhale.
I hope that helps.

I think a regular waterpipe or "water bong" works the best, a gravity bong makes pretty harsh amoke, and alot of times forcing excess smoke into your lungs isn't very comfortable.
But I understand, I wanted to try it once before too, but it sucked nonetheless...

The first time I did one me and my friend went into the woods with half a soda bottle, about a gallon of water, weed, tin foil and a bucket. Probably wasn't the nicest gravity bong but we were stoned. They are a great way to get high since all the smoke is forced down your lungs.
