So I've been thinking about what grade 12 courses I want to take next year and I think it may be something like this:

West and the World
French
Politics (in French)
English
Literature Studies
Economics
Philosophy
Personal Fitness

Now, having said this, when I go to university I want to get into something involving English, History, Philosophy or Politics - not quite sure what specifically ATM. Now, my questions is, do I need a grade 12 math credit to major in any of those? I ask because I really, really, really hate math, and I know if I end up taking it next year it's just going to fuck up my average.

Thanks.

Look at the requirements for the schools you want to apply to.

I recommend the Data Management (stats) Math course in Grade 12. It is easy, can be fun, and stats are very useful.

^ if I end up taking a grade 12 math course it is going to be Data Management.

I tried to look for the requirements for the schools I want to apply to, but because I'm not in grade 12 yet I don't have access to a lot of the information my high school has in regards to university requirements. I have checked all the universities' websites I'm thinking about going to, but they're all confusing as hell and hard to navigate. As such, I'm having trouble finding the course requirements for those specific subjects.

go to your guidance councillor. this is what they get paid for.

You're lucky Data Management is a 12U course. When I went to school is was 10C, and mostly involved coding in QBASIC.

I don't know what province you live in, but it seems like you're looking to major in social science. Coming from Ontario, I can tell you that beyond your requirements to graduate HS, you do not need any extra math. Just your 6 12U courses.

Make sure you meet the program pre-reqs. Do some research, or book an appointment with a guidance counsellor... and get good marks.

Thanks, and yes, I'm in Ontario.

I would book an appointment with the guidance counselors, but they're really no help what so ever. I went to them earlier this year to try and drop a course and they told me "you aren't allowed to drop courses anymore" when I knew fully well that I was (I assume they were trying to get out of work... all the counselors at my school are like this).
