So a couple of days ago I popped about 90mg of Morphine IR pills, spaced out 45mg at first then the next half 2 hours later. Was feelin pretty good throughout the night, (first dose was around 6 evening) and i had about 2 cigarettes (they were Marlboro Reds which might explain what is about to be explained). Fell asleep pretty easily while still high around 2 am.

Woke up next morning pretty early about 6 and popped 2 methadones 10's which DO get me high every time i take them (to all the anti-methadone recreationalists? sp). Then i had a cig and immediately afterwards my stomach started feeling really uneasy and this lasted for minutes until i just wanted to get the inevitable over with. I went to my bathroom and did the finger thing and i puked about 4 or 5 times, i mean it just all came out..

Question is why did this happen? Iv taken opiates before and never gotten sick? Was it the lack of sleep+ large amount of morphine? Or was it the cigarettes?8)

Lack of sleep and cigs 1st thing have done that to me when i take my morning dose of Adderall esp. if i don't eat. i also usually get lightheaded (can progress to tunnell vision) and break out in a drenching sweat before i am sick.

It was all of those things.Morphine still in your system from laack of sleep, the opiates and the smoke both trigger vomiting

When I used to work 80 - 90 hours a week, I'd pull all-nighters a lot and my stomach was always fucked up when I didn't get enough sleep. In fact, think it contributed to the ongoing stomach/GI problems I have now.

So I can totally understand how the combination of factors in your case resulted in needing to puke. I don't know exactly what it is about not sleeping that fucks up the GI track, but it's a definite reality.

this happens to me with morphine. Morphine is notorious for causing horrible constipation so if you have a full stomach while you are high it is not going to digest properly. I often find myself puking the next morning because my stomach just has way too much undigested food (probably starting to release toxins in your body instead of moving through your G.I. tract). Your body can't digest it so it causes you to throw it up the way it came in!

opioids + nicotine are known to cause nausea. My bet is that was what happened.
