I have yet to try the phenibut in fear that it will complicate my withdrawal. Would taking it once mess up my taper? imd own to 1 mg of valium. I mean would it have the same effect as drinking a bottle of whiskey on my gaba receptors? cause i know alcohol can slow down recovery. IM also on lyrica. Could taking phenibut once give me bad rebound and have more trouble sleeping the next night? please help I dont wanna mess things up.

Yes it absolutely could.
It did to me when I was getting off opiates and had severe insomnia. The phenibut helped me sleep the first night for like 12 hours (this was after not sleeping at all the night before, and only a couple hours every night before that) and the following day when I didn't take the phenibut not only did the insomnia come back, but I felt like complete utter shit from the phenibut. Most of its anxiety properties had worn away, and I was left to feel like I was spinning AND in wds.
It was terrible.
But this also depends on the phenibut you are getting. I've bought a lot of new school phenibut in vitamin bottles that don't do shit. If you're getting the pure old school powder from an online supplier stay away from that shit. It definitely can and will most likely cause a rebound.
Not to mention your tolerance will build so ridiculously quick I just don't think you want that shit going on with your GABA receptors.

thank you very much. glad I asked. I am getting old school powder. I wills ave it for a day when I am no longer wtihdrawing. As shitty as I feel now I know it could be worse. I think im withdrawing from opiates now too lol. lyrica is suppresing it a bit. ah life sucks sometimes.

^ wish they had Lyrica when I was withdrawing from benzos. I think it will definitely help once the taper is over.

Also w/d from 1 substance at a time perhaps?

If you are down to 1mg diazepam you are in the home stretch (as I'm sure you are well aware). I tapered with clonazepam and I was down to 1/8 of a 0.5mg tablet. I finally got the courage and made the jump. No seizures....just a lot more insomnia/anxiety. This is where Lyrica has potential IMO.

As far as effecting the taper (phenibut) logic/instinct tells me it will.

However, it is a GABA B as oppossed to A AFAIK.
