Good quality, but apparently not snortable speed

Searches unable to answer this specifically, but would appreciate any enlightened comments.
It is said to be crystal meth. It is very moist, like a toffee texture. The colour is a very pale lemon/yellow and it's a bit grainy or sandy (but this breaks up).
It won't dry and the taste is so bitter, much bitter and almost acidic on the tongue than any other amphetamine type thing I've had. It's strong - bombing a bit gave typical speedy effects (for me), along with tingly warm fingers, nice sensitivity on the skin, raised pulse and charged feelings.
The thing is I don't want to bomb it. I want to dry it and do lines.
On recommendation I tried to freeze it. I tried warming it on a plate which made it go very dark brown. I left it in a dry airy spot for a week, but the toffee texture is still there. It's like thick gooey paste!
And it still produces a strong effect when bombed.
Any conclusions on why it won't dry and why it's like that in the first place?
 
i want to say crank...but i would expect you to say that it had a "dirty" feeling high...
this is my best guess though.
"crystal" is more well, crystal--and clear.

you need to recrystallize it
or wash it.
what you have now is probably mostly speed but also contains some other salts and derivatives of precursors, products and byproducts, probably including some halogenated amphetamines that are somewhat toxic.
but it shouldn't be difficult to get shining white crystals from.
 
conclusions: it won't dry because it's not wet. not with water, anyway (well, possibly there's a large amount of water trapped in it). some of those byproducts are liquid at room temperature.
why it's like that: they isolated the final product by acidifying the organic phase with an aqueous acid rather than a gaseous acid. then they failed to recrystallize it.
 
Your best bet is to do an Acid/base wash on your dirty meth. Dissolve this shit you have picked up in a small ammount of water. Now add about the same ammount of a non-polar solvent, toluene works fine. the next step is to add about .25g of Caustic soda (NaOH) to the mix for every 25 ml of solution, this moves your meth into the non-polar layer and all the shit in the water layer stays there, so you seperate the 2 layers, keep the non-polar (np) layer. Add distilled water to this np and then add a few drops of concerntrated HCL, this moves the meth back to the water, separate the water and evaporate giving pure meth. This is alot of effort for you average meth user and i assume that you will not go to all this effort just so you can have a couple of lines but im sure there are people who are out there who might give it a go. Another method could be to add acetone and just pour it off, this can sometimes clear out allot of the shit. I wish that F*****G meth cooks would start purifying their products, all it takes is mabey an hour and instead of giving shitty "crank" we could all be tweaking of nice clear glass. Hope this helps somebody out there
 
extract from Worlock's step by step guide
Crush up, put in a bowl with minimum of dry cold acetone ( no water)
Pour crystals and acetone into a filter
Wash crystals by flushing with more dry acetone, until they are white, this removes the acetone soluble junk
Optionally wash them with any of the non-polar solvents to remove non-polar soluble junk
Wash off the non-polar solvent with acetone.
Change to a clean collecting flask
Keeping crystals in the same filter. Add denatured alcohol to dissolve the chili and leave most salts and insoluble crap behind.
It may take 10 minutes for all the meth to fully dissolve
For a quick clean evaporate the alcohol away
For a major purification use recrystallization
Boil the filtered alcohol/meth mixture until a slight skin begins to form on the alcohol, add about 10 ml of fresh alcohol to dissolve the skin again and add 20 ml of acetone, cover the container and place in freezer for 6 hours or more up to 24 hours, the longer the better and bigger will be the crystals.
After the 6 hours, Filter the crystals cold and quickly, rinse lightly with a very small amount of ice cold alcohol, after the residual alcohol evaporates from the surface of the crystals this will give you some of the finest stuff you have ever had
 
SWIM got into a regular habit of making methcathinone and from your description I'm guessing your meth is actually cat. Its normally oily so it isn't very good for snorting. I probably wouldn't get anymore of it. It really isn't on the same level as meth.

How does it smell? It sounds like the same stuff i get and its real crystal and very good. We call it slush. Can you smell it through the bag? Around here there is about 100 differnt types of crystal and this is by far the best and purest...

The smell is strong. My girl-friend loves the smell and taste because of the bitter amphetamine bitterness.
Yes, that aspect is encouraging.
