good combinations with mxe

ok after about a year of experience with mxe, the trip has gone kind of 'flat'

like i'm observing it, but it's not very immersive, it's just like oh stuff here, stuff there, whatever

any good combinations/suggestions to bring the life back into it?

i found adding dxm to the mix helps me with that problem but beware as alot of people consider this a dangerous combo
