Going to stop using Kratom

Dont have access to codeine. I think once I get down to that low, just jumping off and bearing it will not be too bad. Staying off of drugs is the hard part

good luck still man, let us know how you get through it. I can't get off the kratom now actually, it gives me a hell of a buzz with my clonazepam. if i dont take it i get short mild withdrawals that are actually pretty bad. But that's probably from 2-3 years of opiate use behind it.

How do I have access to codeine? I've tried to find it and its not OTC here where I live.

He might be thinking you live outside the 50.
Canada & such have OTC codine.
I just started my kratom ride, hydros owned me for years.
The living without drugs....idk
I do however "pray" u get the strength u need ;-)

Just wanted to say, I feel your pain, I'm in the same boat. Your taper sounds great, which is what I am going to do.

For me, the physical isn't the hardest part. And I've withdrawn off 'real opiates' before, and in some ways the kratom was worse physically. The mental is the worst for me. I get real depressed, full of anxiety, my heart races, etc. But I always did it cold turkey. Sometimes I only made it a couple of days, other times I quit for a few weeks, but I was so depressed and anxiety-ridden I started again. I think tapering is the way to go, along with Imodium, exercise, and everything else everyone recommends. Best of luck & keep us posted. :)

i get really depressed when i dont take kratom too, worse than with no opiates but the physical withdrawal is much easier for me. I know when it's time to dose kratom cause i start feeling like i want to kill myself. Fucked up but once it kicks in, i don't feel like that any more.

I'd like to cut back on my kratom use as well so I feel your pain. It's getting too annoying having to make sure I don't run out, plus the varying quality among different vendors makes for some uncomfortable/unplanned withdrawal symptoms.

It all depends on how quickly you want to stop. You could cut back by one tablespoon per day, one gram per day, one gram per week, etc. Supplementing with loperamide or DXM (in low doses) could help if the withdrawals are bad. But both of those can cause dependence as well so don't overdo it!

i'm gonna try lope to get off kratom; i don't mind kratom though, i have a great reliable source and it's very strong stuff but i can't be running a poly drug addiction right now lol. It'd be nice to save the money though.

Hey guy's, I'm really struggling right now. I got a prescription by my psychiatrist for generic Wellbutrin XL, however I was recently terminated from my job. I applied for unemployment but the discharge means it could take up to 12+ Weeks to get a decision of whether I can get the measly benefits. I'm on 4.5g twice a day, and going to be 3.5g tonight. Hate lying to my girlfriend. I tell her and her mom that I'm at work, but really I am at my mom's home sucking up my taper because that's what I need to focus on.

I hate some money saved up but between car insurance and gas and food and phone bill and internet, that shit will quickly dissolve without income. and I've been searching for better jobs for months on end to NOTHING. Getting a degree in may

Update: Hello all.

I have came all the way down to about 4.5g a day (1.5g 3x a day). It's almost the end of my kratom taper. Anyone have any insight going into life without kratom again?

I REALLY want to know how you do when you jump off of it cause Im at the start of a taper as well and never really found a post where the poster finished to the very end and reported back how well the taper worked(but Im sure someone has and I missed it on here somewhere). Although yes it works big time, I cant take loperamide because Im such an addict I actually got addicted to that too.8)If you kept the loperamide low however, and then tapered off of that it might make it much easier.

Id say also if it gets any where near rough when you get even lower( which you are pretty low but still some is going to always be easier than none) dilute a measley amount like a quarter teaspoon or so in some water and then take it that way then start pushing the dose later and later till your skipping hours then a day and two days and so forth then Id think you would feel very little.Of course this is just from my previous experience coming off of many other things, but since Ive never done a kratom taper I cant say for sure. That just seems like common sense to me but someone please correct me if Im wrong cause Im gonna need to know the info as well for my own situation.

Id also start maybe taking either 5htp or SAM-E and maybe gaba for anxiety and depression or maybe an adaptogen like rhodiola rosea or holy basil. I know that herbal/ amino acids sounds weak but once you get to where your at it should work more than you think because I think for the most part youll be battling the remaining depression that usually sends us back. We just gotta remember all the hell we went through to get where were at and how it usually only takes ONE TIME to start all the BS all over again. The older I get I see its just not even worth it anymore.Just a reminder which Im sure you expect, but dont expect to feel back to your old self right away. That stuff still takes time but if you could start exercising too (if your not right now) that would really help as well.

Ive said it before on this board about my own addictions cause its helped me but when your tempted think it all the way through past the pleasure and to the misery youve endured and know that with time your going to feel great again. For me, the hard part will be resisiting the urge to take more during my taper so major congrats for how far youve come! Once my crazy brain gets hold of any opiate it just drive me insane and takes over my whole life. Please keep me posted on this and let me know how you do in the upcoming days/weeks as I really want to know what to expect and what works for you might work for my taper as well.Wishing you all the best!=D

i think you can taper a lot more than .25 grams at a time or whatever. kratoms not that strong and it doesnt affect u like opiates do. imo id start taking 5-7g per dose right off the bat. itll accellerate your taper and get you to where you need to be faster.

if your worried about it not being enough theres been numerous times where ive cut my dose in half just to be more pleased with the effects than if i were to take 10g at once. have u ever heard the saying less is more when referring to kratom? its true

also youd probly get a lot more help posting in the kratom forum (not bluelight a completely different site)

if u got any questions feel free to pm me

i just read your most recent post so i guess disregard everything i just said. in terms of getting back into life without kratom ive always found weed to be something i can look forward to instead of kratom. a lot of the time we just need SOMETHING to alter our state of mind or look forward to throughout the day to keep us from relapsing, and ive found weed to be the perfect substitute. and look into support groups like na or something similar where you can be around people who are going through the same shit you are

It's my day 2 off of Kratom.

I am taking loperamide and Kava and it seems to me that there is little withdrawal at all.

I ran out of my kratom at .25 3x a day left, and I start a new job on Monday. I can do this guys. I know I can do this.

Not too bad. I haven't used Kratom since 12/31/2012 but I have been taking loperamide & caffiene since.
