Not doing anything!
I know there is a lot of speculation about this topic, hell, there is a lot of topics in bluelight about this topic. I just want to bring this up one more time. If you are like me and going thru some painful withdrawals then you can stop weeping, wailing, and gnashing your teeth. Raiding the medicine cabinet and having that fleeting thought of taking all of the advil in the drawer to help you is over now.

Imodium AD. There, I said it.

Ok, I know a lot of you guys are gonna come at me with all of this scientific jargon about how the main ingredient (Loperamide) in Imodium does not cross the Blood Brain Barrier (BBB) and therefore will not work. However, for those of you grasping at ideas and frantically pointing and clicking your computer for an answer to those painful WD symptoms, look no further.

I have found with much research that Imodium AD is an opiode-type medicine. For some reason it got shelved for not doing what they thought it was going to do in the first place and they knocked it down to where you, the panic-stricken and perhaps sweaty withdrawal person that you are, could go and buy it over the counter.

I have found that personally the liquid Imodium is best. Make sure the active ingredient is Loperamide. Depending on the bottle, it should be about 1mg per 7.5ml. Go ahead and chug about 6-8mg.

I have been clean now for roughly 7 days thanks to Imodium AD...I haven't pooped, but I'm not having any WD. Think I better go take a laxative...I can taste something funny in the back of my throat...

But seriously, go get some Imodium AD.....and...scene....

Loperamide absolutely has an opioid effect that will mitigate mild to moderate withdrawals. There are lots of threads here about this, including some with detailed reports of how to get a buzz from it. However, one concern that doesn't seem to be mentioned (I've not thoroughly read every thread so forgive me if I'm wrong) is the possibility of introducing a destructive metabolite. It seems that there is a metabolite of Haldol, I forget the name at the moment (chemistry induced amnesia) that is connected to Parkinson's, and a metaboloite of loperamide bears strong similarities. I'll look around and see if I can find the details.

N-methyl-phenylpyridinium? Some such?

Incidentally, if you can get it, pregabalin (Lyrica) will also almost completely ameliorate even fairly strong opioid withdrawals, except for the vomiting, which can be controlled other ways.
