Yeah, the entire "will I test positve for ______?" shit has been beat to death,.. we have FAQ's and like a billion posts that cover every possibility ..
As for yer physical - if they were gunna drop you then they would probably have went over that with you - usually companies want to be upfront with that as to give the prospective hire a way out if he or she knows dailure is destin ..
Now, you can do what you can - if possible stall.. if they offered you the job and you had not been going for interviews and such, there is a good chance you can stall - remember, they offered you the job so "Oh, Monday isn't good, think we could wait till Thursday?" isn't going to seem as inappropriate (sp) as if you had filled out the application Thursday, had yer interview on Monday, and then suddenly your JOBLESS ASS couldnt make it in for a drug test that week - it's like, the company is going to wonder what you do all day thats just so important..
Now if you had been activly seeking the job (application, resume, interview, constant phone contact) then you were JOB HUNTING and as such you should have stopped to think "maybe they will offer me a job and I will need a drug test?" .. for that reason you should have given yourself SEVERAL WEEKS to a MONTH FREE of MARIJUANA, and then a SOLID WEEK to flush yer system out of everything else ..
But like others said - this is a "physical" and that doesnt ENSURE yer getting dropped - if they take urine then ASK THEM exactly what tests they are going to run - tell them that as a matter of personal privacy you do NOT consent to anything they first don't clear with you - such as tests for STD's, drugs, etc.. maybe hint to being a homosexual with a bad case of AIDS? Anyway, this physical thing is kinda a mind fuck - I will leave this thread open ONLY BECAUSE I AM CURRIOUS - What job is this yer applying for? it's certinly nothing computers or technology, hell, they wouldn;t hire me to do network support UNTIL I moved fomr a half pack a week to a half pack a DAY!
What will your duties consist of? Honestly, if I didn't know a physical was involved beforehand I would raise hell - cite medical problems like blown discs that prevent you from walking more then a few yards at a time, a hernia that prevents you from lifting or anything like that (the job I just got I had to bargain to have the building staff tow some violators of my Executive Parking Space [handicapped] ..
