Goa Trance

I went to the event but the party got shut down right before their set. I don't think they were even booked because I didn't even see them in anywhere back of the dj booth. what a scam! :X
hahaha that's shiesty! what a bummer.... the one i was at got shot down early as well wtf!! :\

Anyone have a chance to check out Goasia's new album? It's so good. All you goa fans need to check this one out.

yes, it's quite good! highlights are black khava, dancing with the blue spirit and transonic fields(!). the latter is perfect morning trance. listening to it atm... :)

havent gotten my copy of goasia's new album yet. definitely getting it within a week though.

still really stoked that we got Goasia to contribute a set to our 3rd annual summer solstice event @ di.fm goa/psy channel...gonna be amazing

'Artha - Influencing Dreams' and 'Goasia - Dancing With The Blue Spirit' are both truly excellent, although I definitely prefer Goasia -

To me it sounds like Artha's full-length has basically the same ideas as the previous 'Fluoro Dolby EP', but spread more thinly over 80 minutes rather than neatly concentrated into 40 minutes. Also Artha's sonic palette seems to emphasize more metallic/cyber tones, while Goasia is super-smooth and creamy-dreamy all the way through :)

I finally lived to hear Hallucinogen LIVE @ Ozora festival this year, and let me tell you, double rainbow doesn't come close to the 1h40min heaven that Simon made us experience!

hehe, agreed. his set has imho much better than last year at ozora.

There might come another Hallucinogen album:

Last weekend i was at the Indigo festival in Israel, Simon gave an amazing three hour set (shpongle and Hallucinogen) . after the set I went backstage to pay my respect and I told him that he really really needs to do a new Hallucinogen album.
At first he said that there’s no planning for it. So i told him that he really should do it and that there’s alot of demand. so to make a long story short - I told him that i can get 1000 posts from fans saying that they want a new Hallucinogen album and he said that if I can get 1000 then he’ll do it )
now I don’t know how serious he was but i say let’s put Simon to the credibility test )

simon answer:
Hehe BrainStorm, i did say 1000 votes from different people too… but i am a man of my word, and by the time you get 1000 posts from different people on here about it, i’ll probably have finished not just the 3rd album but also the FOURTH!...

I wasn't aware of this topic so I posted in the psytrance thread, but here's for all goa trance freaks..

Just got the brand new Artifact303 - Back To Space CD yesterday. Released on Suntrip Records.

I'm usually very pessimistic about psytrance nowadays and maybe get excited by 1 album in 20 and blow away by one in 100. Well, this one blew me away - big time! I've loved Artifact303's tracks on various compilations and his CD is a masterpiece in new-school goatrance. So full of energy and psychedelic vibes it's just unbeliavable. Yes, the tracks do follow the same pattern a bit but since they are so freaking good it doesn't mind me at all.

Check out the album and listen to samples from all tracks:

(Especially listen to "Mysterious Fantasy" and my favourite track "Close Encounter")

@cyanoide

Another painful example of how suntrip seems to suck all the darkness and aggressiveness out of all these potentially good neo-goa acts, turning it into cheesy uplifting crap trance, filteria being a pioneer example of this. I guess I might be the only troll not really endorsing this shit like anyone else does, so'll be it.

Neo-goa has loads of potential, but not if it's up to suntrip.

^^ I'll have to disagree with you for two main reasons:

1. Suntrip is a label, they only publish artists but they don't tell them what to do. They have so many artists behind them that it is better for them not to book an artist if they don't like what they do rather than telling them to change their style. It's a nonsense.
2. If they didn't "suck all the darkness and aggressiveness" of the old-school artists before 2000, why would they do it now?

I personally don't like new-school goa but Suntrip re-releases a lot of extremely good albums from the good days. Here are some exemples of cds you MUST listen to sometime in your lifetime:

E-Mantra - Arcana (this is actually new from 2009)
Radical Distortion - Psychedelic Dreams
Afgin - Astral Experience
Dimension 5 - Transdimensional

About Artifact303 - Back to Space, I didn't like it much. :/
