I've done a little reseach on the bags heroin comes in. you know the little wax paper folded over and taped up.
but i couldnt find an answer on why they use this sort of packaging.
whats the reason behind this method and why only heroin and not any other kinds of drugs
looking for any knowledge or even speculations

thanks

No offence but we have this thread every couple of months, the last being just about a week ago. Please learn to utilise the Search function.

With that said, they are made for stamp colectors. They first appeared in NYC, in the mid 60s. At the time heroin was sold in 2 and 3 dollar capsules (00 size) called "Deuces" and "Tres" respectively.

They were first used to package 5 dollar bags called "nickels." the heroin would be up until the second fold. The bag would then be folded and placed inside a second glassine which was then taped shut.

After a while colored tape came into play as a form of trademarking.

Around 1970 stamps appeared, first used by the Country Boys of "American Gangster" fame. The first stamp being Blue Magic, 116th and 8th Ave in Harlem.

Colored tape also continued up into the 80s on the Lower East Side.

You don't know need a lot of H to get high. With coke, you're not usually going to be a bag of 100mg of coke, plus it's usually rocked quite a bit. It's easy to package heroin in the small wax baggies and they are very easy to hide/conceal. You could put a bunch of bags in between the pages books on a bookcase and no one would have any idea they were there.

Putting a stamp on the baggies is a way to mark them so you can have an idea of their quality. That is until a new batch comes in with the same stamp and is weaker/stronger or the stamp is duplicated elsewhere.

I've never gotten anything else except bags. I don't think I'd like to get it in balloons or vials. It makes it sorta fun in a way seeing all the different stamps you can get. It's an easy way to recall which ones were slamming. Best I ever had was a green stamp 'Unlimited', though there were lots of great ones. There's plenty of threads on the different stamps/bags though.

i did utlize it, thats why i started with saying i reseached it. thank you though
was just looking for more information

I've never seen heroin packaged like this, but I'm really eager to next time I'm in the NE. I've gotten tar and brown powder in Texas, Minnesota, and Washington state and it's always been wrapped in a square of plastic grocery bag, which, in turn is in a small balloon. Different color balloons denote quantity (or, if the dealer also sells coke, the coke is in white balloons).

I've always been impressed with the uniformity of the packaging system in different areas.

No.

It's actually quite an ingenious and convenient package.

Rachamim answered your question though.
