Glass pipes. Really worth it?

i've had the same metal hash pipe for a couple years now. just about indestructible and hits well, but it's a bitch to clean. still, i don't feel the need to buy any glass just yet.
 
damn ever hurricane at any headshop i ever seen had em at about 300, i dont know what model or whatever though. i also just feel sketchy buyin bongs online. i bought my first handpipe online 6-7years ago off ebay and everything went fine i just dont like buyin stuff online that much i guess, point is i wish i could find a hurricane for 150 i do that in a heart beat
 
well thats prob a good idea but i still shop around the local headshops, i always like goin to new headshops for some reason im like a kid in the candy store
 
My new glass piece...

Followed your advice and picked up a glass pipe from my local headshop today for $30. Its apparently made of colour changing glass but I have yet to use it so we'l see how that goes. Will put it to use tomorrow.

One of my local headshops has them, about $250-350. The guy said it was made from german Schott Glass, supposedly they don't blow the glass, but let gravity stretch it into a more natural shape, making it much stronger. Pretty sick shit. I think I'm gonna get one the next time I have that much money to spare.
 
I can't believe what some of you will pay for drug paraphernilia. Most I have ever paid for a bong is 30 bucks and they all did the job perfectly. Here in Australia you can get a "springer" style bong for like 14 bucks and there isn't anything wrong with them.

In regards to metal pipes heating up, man up for real it isn't that bad. Glass pipes are okay, I used to smoke 24/7 and I would rather save money on a piece and smoke more dope, thats just me.

I rarely even smoke dope anymore but come on, talking about taste and shit the point is getting high, if I want a nice taste in my mouth I will go to a gourmet restaraunt.

I have smoked some dank buds in my 7+ years of smoking and I never felt I was wasting them by putting them in a cheaper pipe or bong that still worked perfect and smoking the shit out of it.

I ain't dicksizing but I used to be able to take some pretty damn huge hits through cheaper stuff, you must not be smoking enough if you need super expensive shit to help you along.

qft, my 25$ agung bong has lasted 2 years now and going strong. I've had a really killer Magic Water Pipe bong before which cost me like 35$. Fuck spending that much on a bong when i could get myself an oz with the money.
 
once you realize the real differences between a single chamber non diffused or filtered $30 bong and a $350 double chambered 8arm tree perced hand blown piece of art; you'll understand.

having asthma 25 years now, there is a HUGE difference in harshness from the former/later; not to mention drag.

not that i feel im wasting anything with a cheaper piece, just knowing the way my lungs feel after each; and having something nice to smoke from is a priority for me and friends. some spend their $ on bud, some on glass, some on cars, others on whores, and even some spend it on timberlake cds. all depends on whats important to you, and for me sexy back doesnt do it.
 
^Exactly, there really is a difference in the quality of the smoke.

The argument drug_mentor was making can be compared to the analogy, that there's no difference in Sound Quality between listening to Pyle Car Audio Speakers and Focal Car Audio Speakers...

I myself used to be one of those people who said, "a bong is a bong, get a cheap decent looking one and it will get the job done." Of course this was when I was much younger, before I had the chance to smoke out of a higher quality bong.

Once you get that opportunity to smoke out of a high quality bong like an Illadelph, PHX, Roor, or Hurricane and you get to experience that the smoke is like inhaling air or even as light as a hit from a vaporizer. Then you will be more than likely to make your purchase of a high quality water pipe.

The problem is most people don't have them, so you might have to be the first one to make that purchase.
 
I like wood :D

I made a bong out of a milk 2 go bottle and some tinfoil and stuff, idk why people say you need a expensive bong that thing got my baked as hell and it was like breathing in air almost, very smooth.
 
^Wood and Bamboo bongs also give great quality smoke.

Bamboo seems to have a natural filtration aspect to it, same with wood. They do provide a different taste and experience than Glass bongs. Besides a high quality Glass piece, the only other water pipe/bongs I would consider are Bamboo or Wood.
