I've been going through the same thing for 7 years and finally found something that allowed me to get through the horrendous wds. I was at over 800mg oxy some days averaging about 400 or so plus whatever else I could get mixing it with h, dills, opana, whatever I could to get me the feeling back bc all I was doing was keeping the wd at bay. I didn't want to go on methadone or suboxone and be addicted to those which have even worse withdrawals so I tried everything I read that could help from medical texts to forums and I finally found what got me through it easier then I could have imagined and I'm on my 10th night free!!! Feeling amazing. You need to take everything on the list bc they all act at getting rid of diff symptoms.
1st - loperamide (Immodium AD) is an opiate that gets kicked out of the brain by the blood brain barrier immediately so it doesn't give you any opiate type feeling but it does attach to opiate receptors in the body mainly the GI track which will get rid of the diarrhea pain and cramping in your stomach during withdrawals. I needed around 25 the first couple days then by the 7th day I only took 2 to 4 as needed. Don't stay on them for more then 10 Days straight as they can cause a dependence and only take as needed. I would take them with Tagamet to help them work better and longer and also help my heart burn during wd but it's not a must.
2nd - DXM which is a cough suppressor in OTC cough syrup. Get the ones with only DXM ( Dextromethorphan) 30mg per 10ml. I took 60 mg 2 to 3 times a day for the first week. DXM has several actions but the main one we need is that it acts as an NMDA antagonist which will help with the feeling of wanting to crawl out of your skin ALOT, I usually would go crazy n I didn't have anywhere near that type of feeling. Only take for 5 days at the 60mg dose then lower it down n take as needed but don't stay on it past 2 weeks. It also has an unbelievable effect on tolerance it can actually reverse some opiate tolerance and will prevent you from growing your tolerance.
3rd - Vitamin C will help everything. You need doses in the grams but it is amazing. You HAVE to get sodium ascorbate because it has a neutral PH so it won't cause stomach pains, do not take high doses of ascorbic acid because it's PH will cause stomach pain and cramping. You need to find your bowel tolerance which is the max your body can use before the extra is excreted. I had to take 6 grams, any more I had diarrhea, less than 5 grams it didn't work as well. Buy it from a local vitamin shop and it will come in a powder, mix it with fruit juice of some kind and it doesn't taste bad at all. You need to take it 3 to 5 days before you quit so your body kinda gets used to it but it helps everything especially in my case the RLS and leg cramps. It is used in your body very fast so it needs to be taken every two hours but only half a tbsp was the 6 grams I needed.
* do not capsule them I tried it and they break up at different rates and your body has to break them all down which can't be good for it considering I was taking 6000mg every 2 hours mixing a drink with it will make it work within 15 minutes, if it gives you really wattery diarrhea wait for that to end and take less the next dose, stay on it for as long as you need. There have been numerous studies on using it for opiate withdrawal with amazing results even when it was used without any other meds to help the wd process. It worked on everyone from low tolerances to extremely high dose IV heroin addicts.
4th - Clonidine a heart pressure medication. It will keep your blood pressure in check and is an Alpha-2 adrenergic receptor antagonist so it'll help control the extra adrenaline that comes out during wd and will tremendously help the cold sweats n overall sweating. It is a perscription but your doc should be fine prescribing it if you are lowering your dosage just as a precautionary measure. Take .1 mg when you wake up n that's all you'll need.
5th - DLPA while not a must it will help create extra endorphins and dopamine to help your brain heal.
6th - adderrall really helped with the sluggishness and lack of motivation I had, it's not a must but it will also help with the RLS because it releases dopamine. It helps you get out and do stuff which keeps your mind busy n not focused on the wds but needs a perscription if you can't find some.
7th - l-tyrosine kinda the same effects as adderrall but weaker, definitely helps with or without the adderall. With it take 500mg twice a day without adderall take 2000mg to 3000mg twice a day, start at 1000mg and find what works best.
8th - Benzodiazepines will help with the extra anxiety that will come. I think klonopin works the best or Valium bc of their long half lives. But if you can only get Xanax or Ativan it'll do. Take .5mg or 1 mg if your new to them if your anxious and to help you sleep. It'll help you feel more at ease n like you can handle life. These can be addicting and will have withdrawals of their own if taken too long. You should only need them for 10 days 2 weeks max and only take them as you need to. They aren't going to give you any feeling like an opiate so don't try to take extra in a week moment hoping they will, they'll just make you feel weird n fall asleep.
9th - marijuana can help alot to get your mind off of the wd but if you get drug tested it isn't an option. I'm not a big smoker so I would only take a couple puffs on a bowl n it would help.
10th- Kratom, if your still feeling bad take some to help ween down. It works on opiate receptors in a similar way as opiates and is a natural leaf. In lower doses it is a stimulant and higher doses has opiate like effects. There are different kinds I find the red and white to be the best when mixed but you'll have to research the diff strands to find out what is the best. With a tolerance to opiates you won't get a buzz of anything but it can help turn withdrawals tremendously and will not show up on drug tests and is legal, head shops have it but it is much cheaper online. I only needed 3 doses one on the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th day each n I was fine after that. Don't use past 10 days to two weeks and only when needed especially after day 5 when your over the worst.
The last thing you need to do is eat very healthy leading up to and during the detox. Your body will be having a battle inside and needs nutrients, take multi vitamins 3 times a day to have them always in you, fish oil and protein shakes with broken down amino acids so your body doesn't have to break them down ate great. WATER and tons of it is needed with the diarrhea dehydrating you and loperamide doing the same you'll need even more but it will help you heal so much faster. Prepare your mind to say fuck these pills I don't need them and for 5 days you'll have some sore muscles and be a little tired, I went to work the first 4 days before I had a day off and while getting the motivation to get there is hard moving helps so much in not only distracting you but getting your body back to normal.
EXERCISE AND MUSIC are the only two things to have a real effect on releasing a good amount of endorphins even a walk or short easy bike ride will help and the DLPA will help the endorphins not to break down as fast to help speed up things even more.
If you can tell some people who love and will support you incase you have a moment of weakness or need to talk and don't forget in a couple days you'll feel better then you have for a long time. You won't feel terrible at all but don't let that fool you into thinking your body is struggling and you need to help it as best you can. After 7 years of trying to quit I finally got through it and I feel amazing.
