I am going to a festival and want to postpone my period that week, so the doctors is going to prescribe me these hormonal pills that contain Norethisterone (17-Hydroxi-19-nor-17α-pregn-4-en-20-yn-3-on). I want to drink alcohol and take MDMA or Coke on this festival and I was just wondering if these will react with each other in a negative way? I do not want to ask my doctor in case he then does not prescribe me them.

Please let me know asap.

Did you test your MDMA and coke with a testkit? My reply is about MDMA and coke only so you have to be sure about what drugs they are, as other substances can have interactions I'm not mentioning here...

Alcohol and MDMA mix very badly for most people. That combination causes blackouts and general messiness. A few drinks can't hurt but I wouldn't drink until drunk. That is unless you know what you are doing and like this effect. Most people don't.

MDMA has no issues with birth-control so it is safe to mix. However if the birth control itself usually makes you a bit sick this could be amplified by the MDMA a bit, as MDMA is hard on your stomach as well. This usually passes once you have completely come up, but not always. That's about the only interaction that can happen.

Cocaine blunts the effects of both MDMA and alcohol (MDMA I'm sure of, alcohol too according to my friends) so you shouldn't mix either of those with it, it's kind of a waste

Don't want to spoil the fun but just because MDMA doesn't interact with norethisterone doesn't mean what you're planning to do will be safe. Cocaine is probably the most adulterated street drug in the world and could very well contain anything, MDMA too is often cut with other substances to bulk it up. There's no guarantee that any powders you consume do not contain something that will interact with norethisterone. Although I would estimate such an interaction to be very unlikely, just know that with unregulated drugs, you're always taking a risk.

Check this to assess the risk yourself:

Norethindrone Drug Interactions

Consuming drugs is never safe, but she isn't being any more unsafe than the average person consuming MDMA if she tests her stuff like I mentioned first and foremost. No need to scare-monger

If you want to have zero chance of something interacting with something else you should not be doing drugs, as there are a million different things that can interact. It's a risk<->benefit thing.

In this case the risk isn't greater than when an average person consumes MDMA. If interactions with her birth control and adulterants in coke/MDMA would be common, women would be dropping dead or landing in the hospital left and right, no female would be doing coke or MDMA. In stead there are no known cases of people taking this birth control in combination with tested coke or MDMA and having an adverse reaction, I searched around for such cases, so the danger is almost non-existent. Furthermore not a single known adulterant of coke or MDMA is in that list of major interactions, actually not a single illegal drug is, they are all prescription drugs. She shouldn't be worried about it, that is if she tests her drugs...

I didn't think "blunt" would have been the right words. I thought it would have been seen as some kind of synergy. Don't alcohol and cocaine actually create a new drug when ingested? I remember it being called cocaethylene or something similar.

I believe they indeed interact and create a new substance, but I think that substance is cardiotoxic if I recall correctly and not psychoactive at all. It is a poison in short. IIRC this metabolite is the main reason for the cardiotoxic effects coke has. Not sure about this though, I will look it up

As for the blunting effects, that's what my mates report on it, I don't do coke myself. For MDMA I am sure of this as coke competes aggressively with MDMA for receptor occupation so it will blunt the MDMA. Again for alcohol I will look it up

*edit* Ah indeed you are right. Cocaethylene is metabolized from coke+ethanol and is psychoactive (you learn something new every day) but it is also said to be far more cardiotoxic than coke on its' own. So this combination is not really advised, though I can see why some people like it. It shouldn't blunt the experience but alter it, though you should seriously consider if the risk outweighs the benefit. Thank you for correcting me! I love learning new things =D

*edit 2* Coke + alcohol (Cocaethylene) is also more hepatotoxic than coke or alcohol on their own. Seems like a bad idea this combination. You won't drop dead instantly but it is unhealthy nonetheless, though I know a lot if people combine these two

(see here for my source of this)

Wasn't aware of the hepatoxic effects. That's even worse. OP should definitely stay away from mixing the two.

You probably wouldn't want to drink with it anyway though. Maybe drink on a different day of the festival when you aren't taking other drugs but I'm sure MDMA would be an enjoyable experience by itself. :P

Also, alcohol and MDMA have another consequence (although not too severe) of being mixed. MDMA causes urinary retention. I'm unsure about you, but when I drink alcohol the need to piss is increased, with MDMA preventing this (or making it harder) this could result in some discomfort. Also, both alcohol and MDMA cause dehydration - requiring the need for more water and possibly more discomfort from not actually being able to piss (unless you are one of those lucky people who don't get this problem).

No.

Definitely do not recommend combining alcohol and MDMA.

True about MDMA and cocaine, not so true about cocaine and alcohol which when combined in the blood stream creates a more euphoric and long lasting as well as toxic compound called cocaethylene..

Alcohol and cocaine are frequently consumed together..
