Girlfriend Pregnant - On Suboxone And Klonopin

Hello, my girlfriend is 6 months pregnant and I sweat moderately because of the extreme heat where I live ( 108 degrees yesterday, Clovis/Fresno CA) and she thinks that the suboxone and/or klonopin is somehow entering her system and because she gets RLS sometimes she also believes she's withdrawaling from opiates or benzos, even though she's never taken either. I know it sounds stupid but I'm hoping for a for sure answer on this, I see my Suboxone Doctor tomorrow and I'll ask him then, but I'd like a absolute answer on this if possible because it's semi driving me crazy. The amount of these drugs that you would excrete in sweat should not be enough for her to absorb through her skin and feel any effects, let alone gain a dependence.

She could be getting psychosomatic symptoms - if she believes she is absorbing the drugs then she may feel symptoms or attribute unrelated symptoms (for example the usual discomforts of pregnancy) to that. If you are going through withdrawals around her she might feel your pain, some people who are very empathic can feel other people's illnesses just by seeing it/thinking about it. Some women become especially sensitive while pregnant. But it is solely the power of the brain and not because the drugs are actually physiologically affecting her. Perhaps if she can be convinced that it is not possible for her to absorb the drugs from your sweat in active amounts then her symptoms will improve or she can look for their real causes.

If she is pregnant and having physical symptoms of WD, then she needs to see her doctor. It could be anything, and it's not WDs if she has not consumed these substances. It is absolutely not due to transfer via your sweat. It could be an infection/illness and this needs to be attended to immediately if she is pregnant.

It's not withdrawal, she thinks it is because she's seen me with RLS during withdrawal. She couldn't be more wrong. She's never used opiates or benzos so she couldn't possibly be getting drugged for the past year and experiencing withdrawal symptoms when I'm never experiencing them anymore. There's just so many reasons why she's wrong, but I can't completely disprove it until my doctor tells her. Swimmingdancer seems extremely right though, thank you.

Get her to take a drugs test. Perhaps it'll put her mind at ease if she knows there's nothing in her system.

Rls is normal during pregnancy and you are not excreting enough of the drug in your sweat to effect her. If she has not taken the drugs herself then she is completely fine in that aspect.

That's what I thought. I just needed some reassurance as I couldn't look it up in any search engine (mainly google), Pharmacist said no, but they didn't know 100% for sure, and mainly she needs some answer.

Women's bodies do all kinds of crazy things during this time.. Is this her first pregnancy? There is no way she is getting subs and klonopin into her system from your sweat. Just have her call her physician and ask, he will tell her.
