Gibberings Episode CCIV - A New Hope

the remake of total recall was fucking atrocious, like a painful hour and half long car advert.

independent cinema will always be better than the money generating derivative garbage that comes out of hollywood. Ooooh starwars, lets buy lots of shitty plastic toys made by borderline slaves in a chinese capitalist gulag.. No thanks!
 
Sometimes i feel sad that online file sharing killed the recording industry, even though the companies deserved it.
But Hollywood's bad remake deja-vu bad trip nightmare from hell only serves to remind me that i'm not at all sad that the internet killed Hollywood. Fuck 'em.

I thought Point Break was good when it came out...but i probably liked Pearl Jam at the same time.
Fuck, i can't believe i admitted to either of those things.

What kind of chin stroking sell out are you? I mean I can understand growing up and realising that rose tattoo sucks or that stone temple pilot are just creed with a drug addiction but seriously hating on pearl jam??

I always thought Pearl Jam were kinda Dad-rock, before Dad-rock was even a smarmy hipster expression.
They've dated pretty badly.

I still prefer a bit of Teenage Fanclub tbph.
 
I prefer Eddie vedders solo stuff much in the same way I enjoy Chris Cornell solo.

Then again it is far easier to karaoke Vedder than Cornell.
 
i prefer Evan Dando's solo stuff.

Also, i like Evan's way of getting arrested leaving Australia possessing LSD and heroin, after being seen "acting suspiciously" in the airport, slotting coins down into a drain in the floor like it was a vending machine, laughing and talking to himself.
 
Yeah, the lemon heads were a bit mixed for me. I loved their chilled poppy phase a lot more than their early punk albums.

I had a chance to meet Evan in Byron bay once but was way too stoned to make a half intelligent introduction.

I often have nightmares about trying to pick up women in a room shared with Evan dando and Courtnry Taylor Taylor
 
Evan's a nice guy, but i'm sure he was too stoned to make intelligent conversation.
I saw him play a few years back, when he'd gone missing in Brisbane after the previous night's show, and landed in town half an hour before his set started.
He was fucking loaded. Kept starting songs, but forgetting to put the strap of the guitar he'd just picked up over his head first - so he had to sing with the guitar clenched between his knees.

Anton Newcombe was surprisingly friendly and articulate when i blazed one backstage with him - but his wife wouldn't let him come out and party with us and the rest of the BJM. So much for party animal rock stars ;)
 
Hiya just popping in to say hiya to everyone (since I have access to a laptop atm) and to say hope everyone had a gd time at xmas... also all the best in the year of 2016! <3

Don't know about any of you but it's a pivotal year for me so bring it on! (I say at this particular moment, after booze 8(...which I will be giving up up soon - going on antabuse) hope you's don't mind me talking shite am trying to get better at not being so para of every1. Getting my own new laptop soon once I've saved a wee bit more for a good one that can handle music software. And the more I've learned of EADD the more I like, sounds arse licky but ye know what a mean, so hoping to join in more since I'll be soon living on my tod. On a side note: Anyone planning anything interesting for 2016? Gigs, festivals etc? One thing I've been choking to do again is going on holiday or a festival with ma pals.
