Gibberings Episode CCIV - A New Hope

Well, I've been out and ordered myself a new mattress today. In a proper actual bricks-and-mortar shop, because you can't try them out for feel on the Internet. And also because real shops are important, and it's a good thing to support them. And I know the Inland Revenue (and hence, ultimately, the public services I take for granted) are going to get their fair share (you know who I'm looking at).

It's going to be so wonderful, having a nice smooth surface to sleep on! I've been getting as used as I could to the old one wearing out, so lying on a brand new one in the store was a revelation. I could be looking at a whole new era of sleep without chemical assistance .....

Nice one Julie - you should treat yourself to some new bed linen (I recommend pure cotton :D) too for the full on "plush" effect :D

We bought a new mattress earlier this year and its made such a difference to eh, the "old bastard" aches, pains and sore backs when you waken. We bought a very firm foam type material after having springs with a memory foam topping. We discovered this foam stuff on holiday in Italy last year and loved it, slept great. Couldn't find it anywhere in the UK, highstreet shops were shit, same with internet etc. We eventually got one at ikea of all places.

New mattress ftw -Enjoy %)

He says, posting on BL while driving an ambulance. Keep yer eyes on the road ye muppet! :p

(thank fuck the schools are off)

I was in the passenger seat man... Still not officially finished until 6:00 but playing the old "we're stuck behind a bus" routine so as to arrive back at base with no time left to go out again..... Works every time..... SUCKERS!!!!!! :)

Until they decide to fit your ambulances with the same GPS tracking system as the ones on buses ..... if an MP's kid is 30 seconds late to hospital because of suspected timewasting by ambulance crews (which is sometimes indistinguible from genuine and essential rest, recuperation and exchange of fluids) you can bet that there'll be something done about it .....

Although if they use the exact same system as Arriva Midlands buses, the dispatchers will be even more confused; watching on their screens in real time as you pick up the casualty from three streets away from where the incident was reported, timestamped ten minutes after you already returned to the hospital ..... :\

The ambulance are fitted with GPS trackers Julie... Fortunately these trackers don't locate busses. An eagle eyed dispatch controller might realise that your stuck behind a bus on a road where there are no busses but that's unlikely as they aren't too smart...

That trick is only ever used on the way back to base after the last job though. Noone would say that on the way to an emergency (I hope).

Realistically though if you clear the hospital at 5:45 and it's a 5 minute drive back to base it's never going to actually take anyone only 5 minutes...

I think she has drugs coming. Here's hoping that means we don't all have to fuck off in fear of stim fuelled drama in the next week :p

No offence meant - just being honest.

Been tidying up. I've got my 5th load of washing in. Been boil washing the xmas table linen, bed linen and towels. Now its 40C for clothes. Fresh bedding on, my favourite. Clean jimjams too.

Though I'll now have to bloody wash my hair as I've had it soaking in coconut and Morrocan argen oil all day - tis looking greasy n' stylish ;) There's no way I'm sleeping on spanking clean linen with oiled hair :!

So who colours and bleaches their locks here? Any tips. I've just bought London Bleach silver shampoo and conditioner but can only use it twice a week...

Cheeky chops has just cleaned the kitchen for me and done all the recycling. He's now all yours to be a cunt to, enjoy! x

3FPM!!!!!! :D

Crikey this phone is shite. It keeps slowing n crashing

Lol @ felix n not getting an ambulance at 6 pm hahaba

Fair play I love paramedics. They were good with me when. I tried offing myself. Weren't judgemental or owt, just lovely n caring. And we waiting well over an hour to go into AnE that day cause was absolutely chocca.

Evey

My washing machine broke just before Xmas Koneko and I had to do seven loads on Xmas day and boxing day.. Was a nightmare. I love the smell of Persil on freshly washed clothes though..

I would put coconut oil etc. on my hair but I haven't got any...... So I don't :)

I'm sure they wouldn't be judgemental Evey. I imagine they've seen it a thousand times before . OD attempts at very common and judging people isn't helpful at all... I always try to be nice to people.. It makes life so much easier....

Fucking washing, I have so much to do and no real way to dry it except inside the house so yay damp I guess. Stupidly kept our weed in the same bag as our clothes while we were away for a week and now it all stinks. Had a bit of a close call with that actually, all week we'd been putting our joint ends in the wood burner at the bottom of my partner's mum's garden and the last night we were there she suggested we had a fire. It fucking stank, dunno how she didn't notice.

Evening, how do? <3

Yep drying is the worst, honestly when I lived in my old house and had bills included I'd sort of just put the washer on for another two hours if I couldn't be arsed to hang it out. Seem to have avoided ironing so far by rigorous shaking of the clothes or deciding that actually I'm not gonna wear button down shirts to work :D

Thing is you can't put stuff on the line when your at work all day and no point in putting it on the radiator unless the heating is on which is a waste of money if you not in the house. I've bought a clothes horse but it's far from ideal...

I just try to fold stuff up neatly after its dry then just give it a once over with the iron before I put it on..... Fuck spending hours ironing everything at once...

Luckily having to wear a uniform means I don't have to go to the trouble of choosing clothes every day..

Incidentally did you know if your job involves having to wear a uniform that your employer provides you can claim.a tax rebate on the cost of having to wash it?
