Friends often tell new partners "Dont you mess them about" and things like that. If you like this chick then pursue her..if you dont then let her know that. Dont play games either way
 
Yes but the way she was saying it was outright cuntish. Going around acting like that will put more guys off your friend than it will encourage to treat her nicely. It was like she was giving me the third degree, probably because she knows I dont like her either, I had a low opinion of her before all this tbh.

I didn't see how my initial post even suggested I was playing games whatsoever. All I was asking people was on paper did it seem worth it.

Have you ever heard someone say "well I was going to slap her about and cheat on her but then her mate told me not to so I didn't" ?

I'd agree what was written above : if you like her tell her, if you don't walk away.
 
Sid - lay your cards on the table and see where this will go. Explain your feeling to her about her mate. Better to be upfront at the very beginning and find out if it has a chance of working.

If not, at least you gave it a go.

No spacejunk I know but do you really think having psychopath friends is attractive? Because I can assure you it's not when they are phoning me at 2am when I'm in bed being a bitch. It's certainly enough to make me think twice about having anything serious to do with her. It's no problem to go on a date with someone who's friends are assholes but being in a relationship with her is like essentially entering some form of relationship with her crazy friend.

I've decided you guys are right though, I'm going to speak to her and say if said friend is going to continue her campaign against me just to forget it. It's either that or if I've to put up with said friend she's going to have to learn to be a bit more polite/amicable if anything is going to happen.

If it comes across that i was implying you were, that wasn't my intention.
Just saying it sounds complicated enough as it is, and in such situations i think being straight-down-the-line is the best policy.

I understand that you don't necessarily know what you want from the situation - so this might be easier said than done - but in my experience people usually fall into the category of "worth it" or "not worth it" before too long.
All i'm saying is just be upfront about it either way, once you know yourself.

Having psycho friends is definitely offputting, but unfortunately it sometimes comes with the territory...
Often dickhead mates fall by the wayside when a girl or guy has a cooler person to hang out with though, IME ;)

I had all that shit when I started seeing my g.f.
No late night calls but lots of texts. At its worse I got about 120 texts in one day.

As time went on my behaviour proved I wasn't the terrible person her friend was convinced I was. Her friend just looked more and more hysterical and ridiculous.

In the end she was forced to choose.
6 years later and we are still together.

Jeez, her mate sounds rather unbalanced.
Some people get overly clingy when they think their friend might ditch them in favour of a love interest.

Personally, i'd try to not to judge the girl for the pathological behaviour of her mate...
A person like that sounds more than a bit obsessive, and probably drives her insane as well.

bummer I've had clingy ones in the past it's not that. It's this mate is a chick I went to school with, I haven't liked her since I was 13 and she was a dick then. I hadn't seen her in about 5-7 years but it appears as if she's just grown into it. I walked past her in the local bar one night at Xmas (to see the one I've been seeing) and never said anything. She got some other lad to come up and ask me why I was a cunt to her, when I'd never even said anyhing. She is just a shit stirrer, I remember in school when we were about 15 she made up a lie some Pakistani guy had raped her, just for attention.

Now you see there is deep seeded bad feeling there. Now she makes up shit I was rude to her in the bar when I never said a word, what's she been saying to her mate who likes me is what worries me. Things definitely changed when they were together that night I mentioned and the psycho friend phoned me. After that it was like the one I was fooling around with started trying to play games but I just didn't bite.

I'm thinking the reality is what will happen is the girl I like will agree to keeping her friend in line, but it probably will only last until the very first argument then it will all get thrown back in my face by the two of them seems the most likely outcome of all this :D

I used to have a mate who was bad like that. He would phone in and say his grandfather had died or worse to dodge working a hangover. Haha.
 
I phoned in sick on acid once.

Told them I was throwing up blood. Seemed like such a good idea.

They were really concerned and told me to call 999.
I was so confused by the end of the phone call that I wasn't sure if I actually needed to or not.
