i work in a ghost town called the west end.
the saloon is a liquor city
and the cowboys ride cadillacs and lincolns.
Their chaps are red sweatsuits-or blue, depending on their loyalty.
At high noon there is always a dual over girls with names like mary jane and tina.
the white plastic tumbleweed blows with the wind until getting caught along a fence line.
I work in a magical ghost town where no one comes in but there are always some left to leave.
oh, I'm sure that sometime ago this was a great, busy little town.
the old general store's "Save-A-Lot" sign hangs by one nail
and creaks in the breeze.
The paint is old, those empty storefronts
those boutiques with names like Suncom, Laundry-matic, and Joe's Beauty Shop.
No, it isn't totally dead.
The saloon does great business
and there is always a dual at noon.
