I just so happened to have opened a drawer and there was a bottle of liquid GHB, labeled Xyrem, 500mg/ml. I am unsure of the purity or the contents of the bottle, as it was found already opened.
I wanted to see what concentration the liquid was, so I put 10 drops, 15 times on a pyrex baking dish and heated on a hot plate until all liquid was evaporated leaving only a very white, very clean crystalline looking substance.
Upon cutting/scraping with a razor, I find it is slightly tacky when smudged against the glass with the side of the knife, and it does not powder well when a small sample was placed in a mortar and pestle. It just smudged everywhere, so I washed it out with water. Dissolves easily in room temp DI water. It is easy to handle when scrapped and chopped, but it takes a while to chop it. Crushing does not do well either. Maybe the xtals were still slightly wet?
For this particular bottle, which was already open when I found it, I found that 1 drop at room temp is approximately 30mg of solid substance. So far, there is roughly 2.5-3 grams in capsules, split into caps of 400-500mg.
Before I start consuming this, I would like to know if there is any practical (readily obtainable, and not to expensive) way to test this substance to see if it actually is GHB?
I trust the source, but I always like to stay on the safe side, especially when messing with a container that has been opened, by God knows who.
I used the Dance Safe test kit to see if those reagents produced anything, and there isn't a trace of anything that would react with the reagents....
