I heard something of it when reading and going through a possible narcolepsy diagnosis a few months back. The Narcoleptic community and some doctors were making quite a bit of noise about the effectiveness of this treatment while narcoleptics were trying to come down off of the Amphetamines to stay awake. Also, the lack of real REM sleep had something to do with it. Neat!

Bit of a shame that GHB has already been patented outside the USA. It has been prescribed (and may well still be) as Gamma-OH (in France and Itlay) and Somsanit (Germany). So first the land of the free and the home of the brave bans a drug, then they try to persuade the rest of the world to ban it and then produce their own version for sale internationally....

Doesn't this move the drug off of schedule 1 status? I had read that they tried to schedule it as 1 and 3 at the same time. What a clusterfuck.
