GHB prosexual effects

does anyone know the reason of GHB's intense prosexual effects, from a neurochemical point of view? is it related in anyway to GH increase?
 
It's probably indirectly due to the GH increase, which sitmulates an increase in dopamine, and dopamine is well-known to have prosexual effects. However, from what I have read, it seems that these neuroendocrine effects apply only to men.
I think the lack of inhibition, as with alcohol, probably accounts for most of GHB's prosexual effects.
 
I know the dilation of bloodvessels caused by GHB is an important factor ... you can feel the blood run through your veins like a sensual internal massage and the beat of your hart or a good bassline sends pulses through your blood that you can actually feel cause the vesselcontraction muscles are relaxed so the nerves no longer pick up electrical disturbance from them..
also the dilated vessels make it easier to fill a clit or a penis with blood....
 
Never got sexually aroused using G. It actually makes me LESS horny. However, sex is usually more interesting because of the disinhibiting effects - maybe THAT is what people actually mean when they say pro-sexual. It's like alchohol without the limp willie syndrome.
THC is another thing, entirely...
 
That explains a lot. I always wondered if it was just how my body dealt with it or if it was from the GHB...
 
Personaly I think its similar to a lot of aphrodisiacs. You need to belive it to work.
When I first used G I used it just to help me sleep and it never crossed my mind to use it for sex and then I was recomended it. Tried and the rest as they say is history.
I think you begin to assoicate it with sex and then it works that way.
 
Maybe it only works with certain people but I KNOW it's not a placebo....
It works by lowering inhibitions...giving me a HUGE ****-**......and also it makes you want to have that physical and mental closeness with others that many only associate with MDMA...
It's really nice if used for this at the tail end of a psychadelic experience :)
 
The GH increase is minimal and physiologically insignificant bro. If the increase was anything special then all the bbers would be using it. They're not. So the effects must be from something else (what the others above are talking about most probably). Besides GH doesn't give you partcularly amazing prosexual effects even if you're actually injecting it by the bucketload.

If you mean body builders, GHB is commonly associated with body building. Maybe it's not used more, however, because it's not as effective as steroids, and more dangerous.

ghb s main action in the body/brain is on the oxytocin neurotransmission. not much is known about oxytocin but it plays an important role in maternal instinct. this could definitly add to the prosexual effects of the neuro-coctail g is.
 
I love G..
Every time I take G, when I go to the bathroom, I notice my penis is...well..about half way hard (no matter if i'm thinking about sex or not). I also notice when I am in a cold room, or I am on some type of speed, and I take G, it definitely helps "get it up".
Also I do tend to think about sex while on it (if i'm walking around somewhere, I will be looking at girls more often than normal, saying to myself "ooohh yeah"). Girls look more sexy than they normally would.
Viagra sucks.., my vision will have a blue tint to it (normal side effect), but I am not any more horny/more interested in sex, and I orgasm way too fast.

this information is all from read so if its right i dont know. but it stated that ghb s main action is on the Oxytocin system. which sounds reasonable because its quite different from a benzo which acts primarily on GABA neurotransmission and is much less socialising. and not particulary pro-sexual.
it does however stimulate GABA and regulates dopamin and who knows what? like i wrote a neuro coctail!
