For a long time I've been thinking about different alternatives for alcohol. I don't want to do hard drugs on weekends and weed isn't my thing for going out, it makes me unsocial and paranoid. I would like to find something I could take on nights out that doesnt have the negative effects of alcohol.
Although I love getting drunk, alcohol doesn't suit me at all: every time I go out, I get a hangover of 3-4 days and feel tired for the whole week. This is detrimental for my sport, bodybuilding, which is a very important part of my life. What I've done so far is just kept my nights out to max once a month to not interfere with my training and healthy lifestyle. I have tried going out sober, but I just feel very bored and awkward around many drunk people. This once a month thing works well but I must admit that my social life is getting very limited and I would love to be going out more.
I started my research this week about alternatives for alcohol and came across GHB, which seems very interesting. It also sounds like a safe drug, as long as its dosed very accurately and not mixed with alcohol. How does GHB compare with alcohol and would weekly use have any negative long/short term effects?
One issue I can think of, is the awkwardness of not drinking at a pub. But perhaps one could enjoy non-alcoholic beer or redbull to make the situation feel more like just being normally on a night out?
Any recommendations, experiences with GHB or information on better alternatives for alcohol would be greatly appreciated. But most importantly, would GHB be a good alternative to alcohol for someone who wants to go out sometimes but maintain a healthy lifestyle?
