GHB in Britain...legal/illegeal

Is GHB Legal or illegal in Britain?
Need to know cos my brother loves the stuff and Im worried about him!

GHB is NOT listed as part of the Misuse of Drugs Act (1971)
Translation: This means that it is not illegal to posess it, however I believe it is controlled under the medicines act (just like ketamine) which means manufacture and supply without permission is illegal.

Um, a friend of a friend of a friend has had several hundred grams of GHB sent into the UK with absolutely no problems (one package was very definately opened and checked by customs). However it is illegal to distribute it to other people (that will include giving it to people), if your friends do want some you must make it clear that they do not have your permission to take any and if they do take it they will be stealing it (then if they do have any problems after taking it you won't be done for distribution). Come to think of it, walking around with ziplock bags of white powder probably isn't a great idea...
