I sometimes hear it mentioned how bodybuilders used to use GHB to help them gain muscle, and I was wondering how GHB would help muscular hypertrophy. Any ideas?info?

thx

If I'm correct, its not for them to help build muscle.

With all the supplements that bodybuilders take, sometimes it makes it difficult to sleep, therefore they would use small amounts of GHB to help them sleep better.

Don't quote me as saying so, but if I"m thinking right that is how it is tied to the bb world.

Growth hormone releasing mostly.

Although Par has a point and the strange thing is, most bodybuilders who abuse GHB are stragenly lean leading me to belive it somehow effects leptin (fat storage horman) in a positive way.

im gonna shoot this over to Steriod Discussion since the topic seems to be using chemicals to build muscles

imo it does nothing to build muscle more a recro drug, didnt think this stuff was still around? i used to buy shit loads in tubs and loved it for myself and girlfreind

As I have been looking into this recently, I have learned, that it is used to acheive a deeper state of sleep for longer. This is said to be the state of sleep where muscle is built, more rapidly, than any other state of rest. Not really used for hormone release, but to acheive a state that will create this situation of hormone release.

GHB will not help you gain muscle directly (the result of its GH release is actually negligible, as it is so transient). Although it may slightly help fat-loss or cause an increase in LBM in a direct way.

What it is useful for is sleep and getting rid of the need to use alcohol or other toxic recreational drugs (if you are going to drugs anyway).

What is worth changing through the use of additional drugs is GHB's effect on cortisol and prolactin (which usually increases in proportion to GH levels anyway).

Exactly what I was going to say. I used gbl before a prolactin and cortisol blood test to get meds for it and it worked very well.

For prolactin use Bromocriptine (which has other benefits apart from it's effect on prolactin levels).

For cortisol use phosphatidylserine etc.

I thought the chemically correct article over at bb.com was pretty good.

What meds did they end up giving you?

They gave me dostinex and a choice between cytadren and trilostane. It took a little work but it was worth it for a while.

Hi 5alphareductase , can you outline what you did with the GBL? Im interested in how long before the tests you dosed and how much.

Cheers

Well I can feel a 3ml dose of gbl within probably 5-10 min if I dont eat so I would take it right before I left and drive the 15 minutes to the hospital to get the blood test. It would take probably 15 min before I actually got signed in and got back to the place where they draw the blood, so probably it was 45 minutes after my dose that the blood was drawn. I dont remember how high my cortisol was, but I know that the regular prolactin level is something like 4pg/dl and mine was close to 22.
