Getting powder in your lung when snorting

So a friend of mine has this problem where everytime he snorts he gets the powder which in his case this was ketamine, in his lungs, does anybody have any advice for my friend on tips and tricks so he doesnt get so much powder in his lungs but rather through the nose and swallow the drip instead.

the goal is for the substance to land on the lining of your nose not the back of your throat. pretend you're just smelling it not vacuuming it up
