ugh... this is complicated yet so common.
you certainly need to lower your dose of sub. please dont IV them. it works, it works great. but it wears off faster, and is generally just bad to be doing. no need to go into detail on that one. you can gain extra bio availability by using vodka or something similar. u put the sub under your tongue, and put maybe a quarter of a shot of vodka in your mouth with it and let it dissolve as normal. then after its done dissolving SPIT it out. spitting out suboxone was recommended to me by a dr btw... it helps avoid some side effects, and u dont gain anything from swallowing it. i was able to cut my dose in half with the alcohol method
(here is a link to the thread about it, it also talks about making a large amount for storage and dosage methods, etc...) that doesnt mean you are using less tho, just getting more out of the amount you dose.
trust me. u need to get down to about the 2-4 mg range or less in order to enjoy your time on subs imo. i dont agree with some folks that u get all that "high" off of it when u stabilize at a small enough dose... i think u just experience less crappy side effects. and you get more nor-bupe to the receptors, which is more like a full agonist.
at doses around 2mg subL or less u start to get more Nor-bupe out of your dose. this is why everyone says less is more with bupe.
just in general i feel way better recently lowering my dose from 2-3mg to about 1-1.5mg daily.
When tapering from 24mg a day, u can jump down quite a bit at first. id try taking 16mg for two days straight, and see if u get any bad w/d. if not, then keep lowering it. that way u dont get used to that lowered dosage, instead u just keep lowering the dose slowly each day/every other day etc... that way its not a big drop each time u lower the dose. like if u were ok at 16mg for 3-4 days id then start to try 12 mg... then 10, then 8, etc... dont try to jump from like 8mg to 2mg. it would be very hard most likely. so if u do it right u can avoid that, and have an easy taper.
with that said... if u MUST get high. on another opiate... (and yeah u can get high on other opiates while on subs, its just hard to do, complicated, and dangerously easy to overdose) when you are around 4mg sub or less daily it starts to lose its blocking effect. this will differ for each individual, but at some point once u have a low enough amount of bupe in you, you can get high off of normal opiates. i recently got very high off of just one bag of dope, only
about 4-5 hours after taking 1.5 mg of sub (using vodka too, so more like 2.5-3 mg sub normally). so that shows you that subs blocking ability is kinda predictable if u do it right. and the lower the dose of sub your maintaining on when u relapse, the easier it will be to go back on your sub after getting high. the higher the dose of sub your maintaining on when u relapse, the harder it is to go back on the sub after getting high. i got precipitated withdrawals a few times from that. its a level of hell that hard to describe. so your best off not relapsing!!
so like everyone is saying.... give up on getting high, it aint gonna happen on subs. IV subs doesnt give a rush, doesnt get u high, nothing. its just the same "glow" u get from taking normally, it just takes longer to feel it, and it doesnt spike in concentration as much. IV also wears off SO much faster for me, way faster than it should imo. subL with alcohol is the way to go imo. and lower your dose!! 24mg is WAY too much. dont let anyone fool u.
