Generic Buprenorphine is here!!

This is my first "thread".

I need to know how long I have to wait after taking an opiate before I can start taking the new generic version of Subutex. I had one person tell me to ask my doctor, if I told him that I relapsed, he would not give me the generic, thus not save me any money. So I am asking the collective "you" for facts not opinion.

If anyone can help me I would greatly appreciate it as I do not have much time, I only have a few days off work to be sick so I have to time it just right or I may just lose my job, I have been shooting dilaudid 8mg pills and it shows. Please help me keep my job and place to live which are one in the same.

also, hydromorph is a short acting opiate, so if you have a few days, and you can tough it out with loperamide and maybe a low dose of kpin, you might be able to avoid bupe altogether. it will be rough, but it wont be too long. i never shot d's, but i had a 40-60mg a day habit which i snorted, and i managed to quit with a couple days in bed and some xanax

Don't be taking benzos for your withdrawals as above suggests, as I'm sure you're aware that you'll fail your test for them instead...

As it was hydromorphone, and you were IVing it, it should only take you 2-3 days to piss clean. I recommend any kind of muscle relaxers/antihistamines/comfort drugs (loperamide, NSAID's etc), things you won't fail a test for, to ease through those few days.

Go by how your feeling not by how long its been. I've jumped on bup a few times, and I think subutex is a little more forgiving if you take it too soon. Time means nothing. I've waited 30+ hours and got sick, another time I started after five hours and was good to go. Just make sure your in moderate wds, you don't have to be in the thick of it for it to work. It's true though, the shyter you feel, the less bup you'll need and the better you'll feel when you take it
