I know there are some seriously smart ppl out there that can help. Say someone, not me of course, goes to a pain mgmt dr. for their meds. N10's but has a higher tolerance and they're gone in a week. So they alternate between getting a few off friends, one week plugging morph ir, the occasional tylenol 3 from granny, and when most desperate, some 2mg subs. They thought routine testing wouldn't show the difference between one opiate vs. another. Today the Dr. says a few prev. tests show codeine, morphine, and bupe. What? Google research is done, and subs can be explained b/c they used to be prescribed by this same dr. but insurance quit paying. Confusing part: some sites say codeine metabolized into morphine, others say the tests indeed can tell them apart. So if the explanation is they found an old t3 rx, can they call b.s? Of course another UA was done, and it'll show T3's and subs. How can these tests distinguish the difference? Thx...

No drug testing questions.

GCMS drug testing can look for specific metabolites that are only made in the presence of certain drugs as a 'fingerprint', you're kind of fucked. Some drugs share metabolites (codeine is metabolised into morphine for instance) but if they find e.g. norcodeine or something in your urine then they're going to know you haven't been taking just morphine. Same with the bupe.
