Should newly synthesized ghb always be filtered out with activated charcoal? How unpure would the gbl have to be to be deemed a safety hazard?

I don't think that any commercial GBL of good quality (>99%) will contain particularly toxic impurities, because the byproducts of the industrial synthesis are all benign toxicologically. And there's no guarantee that charcoal would get any toxic stuff out. In my opinion charcoal treatment is just a messy job without any real merit.
