Had a bit of a funny experience the other day. Had about 300-350mg of codeine (normal dose not too heavy) and then dosed 1.7ml of gbl on top (normal dose is 1.5-2.5ml) and was met with some horrible side effects:

  • Intense stomach ache
  • A feeling like I was going to throw up and pass out simultaneously (not felt this since primary school)
  • Falling asleep/ unconscious

This all went away immediately after I vomitted up my GBL dose (the codeine was already well into my system). Am I right in assuming this was just the two substances interacting? I've been warned the hell away from this in the past, but couldn't resist, figured they'd just potentiate each other as the codeine wasn't kicking as hard as I would have liked.

Had another ml of gbl about an hour in (couldn't resist...) and then another 1.5ml another hour later with no ill or exaggerated effects, maybe the side effects are only apparent within a timeframe of each other?

Just wanting to clarify whether what I think happened is what happened!

Of course you shouldnt combine these because theres the danger of respiratory depression

Well your first issue is you combined 2 CNS depressant drugs, and you dosed with your normal dose on both of these substances. Pretty self explanatory of why you have a bad reaction.
