Gaddafi killed in Libya

^ Yeah thats true, he did "settle down" a bit later on. He wasn't as hardcore as some other dictators haha

He may have settled down as far as support for international terrorism, but he imprisoned people for any perceived (real or not) anti-state activities and people vanished in the night to serve time in his prisons right up till the end, just like in Iraq/Egypt/Syria. He was always a butcher, that never stops when you are that kind of repressive leader. People always scores to settle. Some have proposed his brand of internal repression was milder than that of Egypts, Syria, Etc for what its worth. Not as much beating on the feet I guess.

I wouldn't call him a hero, but I don't think he was worse to his people than your run of the mill dictator in the region. ;)

Also true. Though arguable of course, especially when you take into account foreign lives and terrorism and destabilizing other countries.

But he happened to be the unlucky one to vow to spill blood and make good on it right after Tunisia and Egypt fell peacefully. That made him stick out like a sore thumb with international pressure the world over against him pretty much.
