I bought this GABA from GNC they advised me it helps with anxiety. I'm prescribed klonopin but tend to run out early some months and read somewhere this would help with withdrawals. Has anyone tried this and if so did it work for you? Any other tips to help with withdrawals would be greatly appreciated as well.

Ive tried using GABA & found it has no noticeable effect on my anxiety. Some people claim it works for them though. Some of the literature i have read claims that GABA may not even cross the blood brain barrier.

I tried GABA when withdrawing from phenibut and it had no effect. A form L-theanine with a high bioavailability would probably help more.

Gamma-aminobutyric acid doesn't cross the blood brain barrier. You could mainline this stuff and it would have no effect on you unless it was combined with an active transporter (and good luck with that one lol). This is why GABA precursors like Neurontin (Gabapentin) or Lyrica (Pregabalin) are used for anxiety/nerve pain.

Thank you MindlessBilly, DementiaSavantPlus and Jktm for your responses with regard to how it did/did not affect you as well as the information. I appreciate it.
