Gabapentin vs Pregabalin effects

Hi XD. I was prescribed gabapentin for about a year, and from what i've heard and know is that they are similar, but Lyrica is slightly more potent/effective than gabapentin and it also has a higher bioavaibility whereas with gabapentin it can vary at different times.

Also Lyrica is more expensive than gabapentin. I heard they are very similar besides the fact Lyrica might be a bit more potent, but from personal experience of gabapentin (prescribed not recreational) it made me feel real dreamy ALL the time something i never got used to, and made me feel real disconnected/spacey from everything but in a bad way, and slowed down my intellectual side, and didn't help much with my anxiety (which it was prescribed to me for).

I hear more people with luck with Lyrica, but again it depends on the person for some people like me nothing but benzos were able to control my continuing of anxiety as i had to try a billion other medications. Hope this helps.

Pregabalin is about 3-4 times as potent as gabapentin. It has a much higher and stable bioavailability of 90%+. Other than that, they're sister drugs and extremely similar.

I find that pregabalin blows gabapentin out of the water in terms of potency.

simply on a which is better for using recreationally kind of comparison... well, that's definitely an easy one (of course, please remember that my opinions are based upon my experiences over the years with both drugs, and our bodies could very likely be as dissimilar as... uhh...ok.. how about a midget horse on crack and shaquille o'neal... i know that sucked, i'm sorry. but you get the point.)
i've always found gabapentin to be totally useless recreationally. however, 400+ mg of pregabalin, esp. when combined with low dose opioids and/or soma or - if you really want to swing for the fences - diazepam or (if you don't mind going back for more pills) alprazolam. i've found that lyrica tends to get way more relaxing/enjoyable, the higher the dose (obviously, i'm not encouraging anyone to go nuts here... only take what you know you can handle, and - ALWAYS - if you are trying something you are unfamiliar with, don't freakin do it all alone.

I only use pregabalin therapeutically for anxiety and pain but hands down its better then gabapentin.
Gabapentin made me feel more drunk and caused stomach pain and slurred speech.
Pregabalin however doesnt cause any of those side effects for me but is definately more effective for anxiety and combined with an opiate or opioid is super effective for pain and moderatly enjoyable, not as good as a benzo but with a unique flavour all its own.
Just be careful with re-dosing as it takes nearly two hours to reach peak effects and if your prescribed oi t for everyday use then you will find tolerence happens pretty fast (not as fast as with benzos or z-drugs but what does?lol

Damn, I dont understand. When I used Pregabalin I was taking dose under 100mg and I was totally fucked up. Some report dose of 1400mg 8(

Doesn't surprise me some people just have a natural low tolerance. I've been on Lyrica for a year and I can still feel 50mg when it kicks in first thing in the morning. 250mg gets me quite high.
