So! I've been using this combo for about 2 1/2 hrs, and I gotta say, I fuckin love it. I've been prescribed gabapentin for over 10 years. 2 600mg 3x daily, or before it was 1 800 3x daily. But I learned early on that If you take abunch, it'll get you high. I shit you not, i was popping 16-18 of the 600's daily. Early in the morning and I'd be good all day. Even after learning your body only absorbs a certain amount, and gets rid of the rest. It was a mental thing I guess. I didn't wanna take a lower amount and it not work, so a prescription for 180 would last me 6-7 days. There were days I'd pop more, cause i wanted to get higher .which never worked. I learned it'll only get you high for like 2-3 days, than it stops. I started taking then every other day, and that seemd to work. The high of gabapentin to me.I repeat, TO ME, felt like I took 3'-4 norco 10s. (The yellow ones!) Which, i also had a prescription for..120 gone in 3..4 days tops. I have always been a heavy opioid. Since like, 18. Hospital hopping in San Diego/Riverside area. ANYHOW. I started taking suboxone cause I was sick.of.the Street price of 'em. And I noticed that when I took both together, I could get the same..'high/feeling' of a good gabapentin high, everyday. Plus, it seems to gabapentin high stronger. Anyone else ever try this combo? Or get the same feeling on gabapentin??
 
I’ve received profound relief from opiate withdrawal using gabapentin but to me it does not feel like opiates. Gabapentin made me feel like I was completely sober and had no desire to use drugs.
 
Huh. That's a good thing than ya? Cause to me, gabapentin was as good as norcos. I paid $5/ea in prison. I'd get 7-8 of 'em twice a week and I was in wonderland. Just in a great mood, nothing bothered me. Still does

Interesting that I read 2 peoples response and I noticed the exact things, better mood and no desire to get high...I have surgery coming up so I figured I better just take what I'm prescribed🙄🙄...I've had anxiety, wanted to get high, general "ick" feeling, and today I took 3 extra and felt amazing but only for like 10 minutes...WTF!!!! I feel better in general, but the super good (lol) was a measly 10 minutes. I just took another, but I doubt it will do anything. This is the only time I'm taking extra until I have my surgery which is in about a week. Oh I'm on methadone too and been off ALL drugs since July...clearly I'm still an addict tho...damn. I wanted it to go away. It's not gonna. Boo Hiss. 👻🐍

Oh...and YES you get used to gabas FAST as hell...someone said 2- 3 days and yep they are right, maybe even less days than that!!! It's some BS!!!
 
I’m prescribed gabapentin for anxiety. 600mg 3x a day and I feel absolutely nothing in terms of being high. I only take them as prescribed though. I’ve tried getting high by staggering the dose (when you wait 30 mins in between pills so it can build up) and nothing happened. I do however feel like when taking it as prescribed that it does help with my anxiety. Obviously not a silver bullet like how benzos are at the beginning.
 
It does help for anxiety, but ur right it is not fast acting like a benzo but does increase calm. I have to take about 7 to feel anything ,I'm prescribed 3 a day so that's 4 extra. I wish I didn't want to take extra of anything, it's so annoying, like shut up, brain. FOR REAL
 
I overdone it with pregablin last night but felt terrific today ,up early ,good mood.
 
I am currently on gaba 900mg 3x day and Suboxone 8 mg 4x a day. At these relatively high doses I can honestly say I have no desire to use opiates. I occasionally take a couple extra if im hurting. But when I was in treatment the head Dr did a whole entire lecture on how gabapentin boosts Bupe and Methadone. If you come into rehab on gabapentin he will taper you off. Im not sure of the science behind it but it was pretty fascinating. I can Def say its working and if I concentrate I can feel a little buzz of the gaba.
