Im currently on 40mg Adderall/day, along with 600/mg Gabapentin to help with some anxiety..

Ive read through various threads and have done extensive research, and its obvious that some people enjoy "Gabapentin" and some dont...It doesnt work for all people, but its amazing. My favorite drug.. Adderall used to give me the most euphoria along with Oxycotton, but Gabapentin blows them both out of the water when taken in large doses around 2grams.. It acts as a stimulant in a way but also gives you a nice body feeling.

Some people will bash me probably by saying its not recreational, and IMO the people that say that either only tried it in low doses and never high doses, or they just dont react to them like some people do. =D feel sorry for you because its amazing.

anyways,

Why are gabapentin not a scheduled drug? Seriously...?

Probably because used recreatonally tolerance builds so quckly it soon becomes useless (temporarily). But you would really need to ask the DEA, and none of us (I hope) work there.

So your question is 'why isn't it scheduled?'. From my understanding, it is or at least was a "chemical of concern" according to the DEA and they worked it out with Pfizer to make their newer gaba analogue (lyrica) schedule V and leave gabapentin alone since most sales in that market will be directed to lyrica now.

Furthermore, gabapentin has not ever been the type of drug that people will doctor shop for, there aren't significant ER admissions due to it, people aren't commonly ODing or entering rehabs to get off it. So... While many find it enjoyable, it hasn't posed the same individual and societal concerns that warrant more stringent legal regulation.

This isn't really OD material and I'm not sure of anywhere it would belong so I'm going to have to close this.
