gaba drugs and psychedelics

How are you?
Do you lovely people have any experience/memories of using at least moderate (relative) doses of benzos, ghb, gbl, alcohol, and any other gaba drug with higher doses of psycehdelics to ensure you won't freak out? It seems like it would be easy to black out and forget the whole experience when taking too many benzos (ie BEWARE) in any case, but what about in specific combination with any kind of psychedelic experience?

 

[Crashing]

I learned that alcohol mixes very nicely with LSD and mushrooms, but turns the trip into less of an experience and more of a strong and reckless inebriation. Probably because you're breaking memory barriers AND decreasing inhibition at the same time, which can cause you to do some pretty outlandish things. Alcohol adds something but it is still counterproductive. Benzos ruin the psychedelic experience in my opinion, and should be on hand only in case one starts to enter a state of panic. Benzos Definitely will not add to the experience, only take away. But when using benzos to 'check out' of the experience, you are basically robbing yourself of an opportunity to grow stronger, and this scenario often leads people to become dependent on downers for other reasons in their lives. It's like running from the problem.

Example: You are tripping really hard, and get uncomfortable. Your mind is at a state of HIGH emotional vulnerability. Therefore, you take a benzo and it all goes away. That will lead to your brain becoming highly affectionate for benzos, or at least much more than normal.

This exact scenario started a four year long IV heroin habit, because i used opiates to dull out a trip once. The subconscious is a hard thing to control.

Drinking on psychs is good for light-hearted recreation IME, but not everyone likes the combo ( beware, like with stims, you won't feel as intoxicated which can lead to drinking too much). GHB/GBL combine well with just about everything, including psychedelics.

GABAergics are anxiolytic, yes, but nothing will guarantee you have a good time.

I had a trainwreck trip with a high dose of lsd (~4-500mics) and 1mg of lorazepam to "take off the edges"(at the time I thought acid felt edgy in way benzos could alleviate). and imo the lorazepam was the main reason for the first paranoid thought (I was on a festival and had been high on all kinds of psychoactives for 7 days straight though). I felt so retarded by the benzo, then came guilt and then shit went south...tried to refresh things with n2o but after returning from hell immediately (!) popped 2 more loraz, feeling even more guilty. fast forward one hour and see me go to the medics and beg for IM risperidone to end this traumatic shit. anxiety and loss of mojo for a few months.
-> benzos and psychs don't mix. they won't prevent you from having a bad/terrible trip but can make things very messy in the first place.
if I ever had to tripsit a really bad trip (psychosis/(self)harm) and had benzos on hand I'd dose the person high enough to knock them out - and hopefully cause some retrograde amnesia...that's what benzos might be "good" for...

There's a lot to be said about that last post. I think it can be summed up with this:

Not trying to debunk your opinion, but you really cant properly asses a combo within that context.

legit argument. but the acid somehow still made me feel the "true nature" of the benzo in my system/mind and it was silly and destructive. I'm inclined to generalize this intuition but admit I had experienced the destructive power of benzos (in a loved one) beforehand...
