Functioning on shrooms? (Didn't know what other title to use...)

I took shrooms for the first time a couple of days ago, and the whole trip was amazing except that I started getting sort of a bad trip (after the peak, thankfully) because of a simple text that my mom had sent me about pizza. I reacted badly because for some reason I thought she had gone crazy because the text was worded weird(ly?) and I started flipping out because I did not know what to answer and how to react... I ignored it and kind of had it on my mind for a while.

My question is, does anyone know why such simple things can affect a person so greatly while shrooming? Later that night when I looked at my text, I was *smart enough* to text back a simple "What do you mean?" and felt really stupid that I wasn't able to think that through while tripping. I have decided to leave my phone off while tripping from now on haha. But anyways, is it normal to feel like you can't really function while tripping? Me and my hubby would try to form sentences as well but that wouldn't work out too well... It was fun/funny because then we would burst out laughing at each others' attempt to be coherent, but I'm just curious.

Yes shrooms def do that to you . Acid is even worse .. Can't comprehend anything that is going on around u and relly fkin hard to make conversation even wit ur best friends ha

Always leave your phone off. When you see phone calls from people who you subconsciously or consciously know you don't want to talk to, it can inject feelings straight into an experience, sending it into a downward spiral if not stop. Next time, either turn your phone off, or when a situation like this pops up try and think through it. Don't freak out and avoid the feelings that are coming to you, think about why this is causing you distress. Realize that you can just ignore the phone and the world will remain the same.

I've had similar experiences happen to me before and they aren't fun.

Be a bit more prepared next time and happy tripping.

Yes, we have a "forbidden zone" now, where we are going to leave our phones from now on because we know we won't go in there haha
