Friend dies from heroin OD last night......

It's really humorous to me how a bunch of junkies and drug addicts can sit there and destroy themselves on a regular basis and not even respect their own lives, but them someone dies and it's a great tragedy and they care so much.
Please. Accident my fucking ass, if you're using heroin on a regular basis, a part of you is looking to die.
Not that I'm any better, but at least I'll fucking admit it that I really don't care that much and I'm willing to take my chances when I use, rather than this fake garbage everyone is posting.

OK people, first of all, IV drug use is no different from other routes when you do it right, stop blaming that, second, heroin is no different chemically from any other strong agonist opiate aside from unknown purity because of illegality, so stop singleing it out, third, STOP DEMONIZING USERS OF OPIATES BY CALLING THEM JUNKIES AND ADDICTS, sovietfag, you are seriously screwing yourself out of this board at the moment, you are using your personal opinion of a substance as a "Fact" to justify your belief about its users, you say anyone using heroin on a regular basis is setting themself up to die, WHERE THE FUCK do you pull that from?
Does this include me and countless other people legally on opiates? im in severe pain and prescribed by a doctor, 2 pain killers one of which is over 30 times stronger than heroin (fentanyl), are you saying that by nature, someone using opiates has a death wish? i certainly dont want to die and you know what? i wont be dieing any time soon buddy, so hats off to you and your ingenious thought process, i wont call it logic.
first off, opiates are non toxic, meer use WILL NOT AND CAN NOT HARM YOUR BODY. Second, if you use the drugs correctly it is damn near impossible to overdose, "CORRECTLY" inclues the following:
NOT in combination with other drugs that have synergistic effect, benzos, alcohol (this is what most media publicized ODs from oxycontin come from, stupid college fucks drinking with every drug they use)
NOT just "winging it" with the dose and hoping you did good, test a 1/4th of what you think is a dose first
NOT using a new sample of heroin without testing it in small doses first as i said above
NOT USING IT ALONE
and NOT using it if you arent smart enough to use it correctly (ie if your not knowledgeable about drugs, like alcoholic college fucks, which the majority think life is all a party and you dont have to be careful).
Most if not all overdoses fall in those catagorys, when people do one of those statements, they probably will overdose.
Also someone mentioned the fact that this kid the thread is about, probably choked on his vomit, THAT IS NOT A FUCKING OVERDOSE, that is the result of him falling asleep and puking, as a result of being unconscious he couldnt keep the vomit out of his lungs and airway. THIS IS NOT THE DRUGS FAULT, i would venture a guess he used another drug with it as well that caused him to fall unconscious, as most idiots do. BUT it could be possible he overdosed.
There is no "bottom line" here, you cant just say there is one reason people overdose, there are many, but the basic fact remains that it is ENTIRELY possible to prevent overdose in every situation, you bypass that by being careless, people who dont check how much they are actually using are careless, you can inject half of the shot and wait, people get overzealous and bang it all at once and then, you have no chance you will die if you used too much.
Same with snorting, you can damn easily snort a part of what you think you will use, and if the first dose you use is enough, you just saved your ass because if you had 2 more identical piles or 2/3rds of the line left ready to snort and did it all you could die, BUT you have the same effect as injecting half or less here, you dont have to just do it all at once, especially if you arent familiar with the purity.
One problem that we've encountered is that with the drug "Fentanyl" when illicitly produced and commonly used in street sales as a cut by 100 powder, the manufacturer (illicit) normally cuts it correctly to the same potency as normal heroin making it almost identical and just as safe, but people such as dumbfuck dealers who think they can disolve it in water and add more powder and make more money off of it dont realize that the actuall chemical is a small part of the total powder, and you can upset the balance of fentanyl per mg of powder, making it possible for someone to use a SMALL portion and actually take over 50 times what would normally be there, just because the stupid dealer changed the ratio and now half his shit has extreemly small amounts of drug in it, and half (or another portion) has so much its impossible to use correctly.
What can be said is that idiots have a much higher incidence of adverse events, and idiots more commonly screw up things they do such as the fentanyl cuting mentioned above, idiots are the real problem were dealing with, not the "horrible scurge of heroin".
And here we have a situation where some kid, probably an idiot but i dont know so im not going to just demean him/her (sorry), died after using heroin, idiots come and assume that he overdosed and that the drug did it to him, idiots then blab stupid hysteria crap and cause a ruckus, drug, not person, gets its reputation tarnished for no confirmed reason.
I truely feel bad about every person who dies using drugs because we dont need to have loss of life its preventable, and each person, however idiotic they are, could have contributed something to society or at least to something worthwhile, but now they cant do that even if they wanted to.
I appologize to shady for everyone here and also for myself, as i dont know much about the person who overdosed and i took several things as granted about them, so if they werent true, i am sorry, and still regardless i hope you are ok and dealing with it well.
To the rest of the people here, dont post opinions in cases like this, nobody gives a fuck that sovietcontin thinks junkies are asking to die, and anyone who did care, knows that now, so dont say it again.

I never said I had any problems with heroin.
The only reason I ever stopped using it was because I didn't like the people I had to go through to get quality stuff.
I have a problem with people whining when someone dies after doing something they must have some idea of being extremely dangerous. People die from it all the time. Infact you hear about it constantly on the news, movies, books, etc. And reguardless if it's actually not the heroin, but the fact you choked on your own vomit that killed you.. well, if you hadn't had used heroin, you probably wouldn't be throwing up and choking. And if you're really that ignorant that you had no idea lots of people die while using heroin, well, there's just no excuse for not knowing that.
