Friend Broke My Bowl

Amongst my friends, if someone breaks a bong/pipe, its all square really, likely enough the breaker has had their own broken before by the breakee :D I guess if you have something you cosider valuable and let other people use it, if it breaks, well- shit happens. :)
 
If that happended to me, id be making sure whoever broke it bought a new one.

Same goes with smashing bongs..
 
Yeah my friend lost my piece, but I was dumb enough to give it to him, because I thought my parents were gonna search me. It ended up not happening and he told me the next day his parents found it in his room because he hid it in a stupid ass spot. Then someone else told me he was smoking out of it, so I dunno who to believe. Yeah but I was dumb giving it to him, but he should owe me, I'm really pissed because I loved that bowl, never got clogged, never needed to boil it. But the bowl I have now gets fucking clogged so easily and I have to bowl it after every two bowls I swear, I dunno what's fucking wrong with it!

I'm about to soak it in that degreaser shit at work that you soak pots in to get all that shit off em, I dunno if that would be stronger than soaking it in iso. I think some resin is getting stuck in the stem somewhere since its a double-chambered stem.

Glasswear breaks, get over it. He/she may have broken it but you're the one who used it and weakened the integrity of the glass. I broke my friends bong once while I was trying to clean it for him, I gave him $40 (probably more than he paid for it) and he bough a better piece than the one he had and still has it today. I was overcome by an insane amount of guilt when it happened and I called my friend up high as shit expecting him to be angry at me. He wasn't and was glad to hear me offer him help in buying a new bong. I would like to think I'm an awesome person to be friends with because I'd pay for the broken pipe, I wouldn't expect everyone else to do that though.

Buy a new piece and love it just as much or more than the old one.

duu $65? thats crazy. most pieces/bowls are like $20 here. make him pay like 20 so you can get it replaced

That's another problem with the "you break it, you buy it" attitude. How much is the bowl worth? I mean, it's a resinated, used bowl by now. It's probably got herpes virus all over it. It retailed for $65 but if you aren't getting ripped off you can find a better glass bowl for $20. So how much is someone supposed to pay to replace the broken bowl of which the value is not established?
 
Leant my first glassy to mates when we were like 16, its name was drooley. Never saw him again. That being said i used to be hopelessly uncoordinated on bud so ive replaced 3 of my friends bongs, a table and a fifty (dropped it out the window when i stacked it)
 
leigh12... i was just merely posting to see what others would do if they were in my situation and i figured many people have broken/or had their pieces broken.

my roommate is going to replace it sometime soon. he is giving me the full value of what i paid and i have decided to throw down some more money and upgrade to a bong with a perc, diffuser, and an ice catcher.
 
general state of mind is that if you break a friends pipe, you replace it, or help them buy a new one at least....

i would be epicly pissed if someone broke my bowl, but thats not so much that its a crazy expensive work of glass, more its the first bowl i ever owned and its going on its 3rd year of being with me....

same with my bubbler, it was bought 15 minutes after i was legally able to buy paraphenalia. it will be hitting its 1 year mark in around 15 or so days...

same with my 1 hitter, it marks the end of my longest run at a job, and my least favorite of all of them.... it lasted through its first summer.

wow I've gone through about 10 different pieces during the 3 years I've been smoking, I love my pieces but I'm never pissed or upset when they are taken from me or broken. Shit happens.
 
How many people name their pieces? I have never done so except for my bubbler. I just forgot the name I gave it ;x
 
I would be dissapointed but I would never make them pay. Where I was rasied my friends are like family If they broke my 400 dollar bong i would not make them get me a new one and nethier would they. Btw two friends broke my roor and a 100 dolla bong.
