Hi long story short im 18 and have been smoking meth almost daily for 3 months, long before that i completely detoxed off mild opiate use which left me with PAWS (anhedonia)..

Anywho i take care of my self, diet and nutrition and what not but what seems to be bothering me are my eyes which are sore and strained. I use artificial tears which seems to help for a short time.
How do you guys deal with eye strain? I usually stay up for 2 nights and i try to get a short rest (lying down and closing my eyes for ten or so minutes) but after i open my eyes my vision gets blurry for a few minutes.. then the cycle repeats, my eyes are sore please share your experiences. Thank you very much!

Well you're going to have to find a way to use methamphetamine and have it not interfere with your sleep hygiene as much, because ocular issues are common and will only get worse, as will your addiction to the drug over time. You think your current use is "frequent" but your definition of frequent will be redefined over and over again, such is the pattern of crystal methamphetamine.

At the most, you shouldn't be staying up longer than 24 hours, I mean doing methamphetamine is hard enough on your mind and body, add in sleep deprivation and it's a whole new skid row. Lab rats deprived of sleep (not even factoring in methamphetamine) grew tumors all over their bodies, there's a ton of research out there that shows sleep deprivation alone, is devastating on one's body and stability mentally. This isn't even factoring in the psychosis induced by methamphetamine, and the risks of psychosis increase the longer you stay up. You weren't designed to be active for 48 hours straight, your body needs sleep, specifically the ability to reach Stage IV and REM Sleep, which you won't reach by taking a short nap.

If you're going to do methamphetamine, set some ground rules for yourself and your abuse of the drug so that you don't end up being another statistic. Focus on personal hygiene, sleep hygiene and normal taking care of your body hygiene, brushing your teeth hygiene, remembering to eat healthy meals regularly, drinking at least 8 tall cups of water per day to replenish everything that is being used up to cool your bodies hyperthermia induced by the methamphetamine your abusing and hope your pissing away some of the toxicity you're ingesting.

Wow thanks for that crystal clear answer, yeah I knew I am sleep deprived and everything also which, I care about my eyes I don't wanna go blind haha. What concerns me the most is the crazy rem sleep I experience, it feels as if my body isn't going through the stage where it's recovering and what not. Well anywho I'm giving myself a two week break it's really taking its toll on me especially on my appearance.
Kind regards, Blowingclouds

Force yourself to eat on it. I plug so its way easier for me to eat, that and I love eating. Some easy things to snack on that will help tremendously: bananas(lots), apples, spinach, flaxseed, broccoli, kale, brussel sprouts, almonds, avocado, and eggs. If you feel like you can't eat, do it anyways. Stay hydrated. If you can't be responsible enough to eat or stay hydrated while being sleep deprived, you have no self control and shouldn't be doing it to be begin with. All of these superfoods have natural antioxidants that could help reduce neurotoxicity. They are cheap too! Supplements have been proven to be a fraud so take them for the placebo effect if you like but whole foods are definitely the smart option.

damn straight up, if you are 18 just do yourself a favor and get off the meth. You might be healthy now but you are 18, of course you should be healthy!!!! Not trying to scare you, just saying that life already is suffering. Daily meth use will inevitably only add to your suffering.

If anything, limit your use to once a week/month and save up what you would have spent on your daily habit...

Meth is a drug that's very hard to use without experiencing negative physical and mental consequences...Your teeth, your skin, your personality. Sleeping, eating and staying hydrated are some of the most important things to maintain health. Meth is a drug that just uses you up. I don't know anyone who's a regular user that doesn't have any outward manifestations of their use. Its nasty shit!

I'm also a daily user but get adequate sleep (approx.6-7 hours a night). However, I also have problems with my eyes. It started of as a dull throb, now they ache and feel dry most of the time. Is there something other than lack of sleep that is associated with use of the drug that could be causing this? Or is it more likely that it is unrelated? For example, my job entails I stare at a screen most of the day

Agree, although I'm now example that it is possible to use meth with little consequences. For the last year I have been using meth regularly without noticing negative consequence at all.. ROA itself is what makes the difference compared to >90% meth users; I know about 20 people who used/still use meth and not a single one of them tried eating it. However I've been using strictly once per MONTH and ROA is always orally. And I don't stay up for more than 24 hours.
Prior to that I was snorting the crap every friday. Once a week usage fools most people including old me that it's fine but the truth is it's enough to cause a lot of damage after a couple months.

^I wouldn't really call once a month "regular usage", but I'm glad you're able to be responsible with it. I think meth is a drug that can be used responsibly and occasionally.
