Cocaine Frequent Heart Palpitations.....

Yeah what the above poster said. Go to the doctor or hospital asap. Heart palpitations are common but when they become a daily occurrence, like what happened to me, it is a problem. You should stay far far away from uppers like speed and coke also. They are notorious for causing enlarged hearts and other high blood pressure conditions like hypertension. I was prescribed klonopin for this problem, among others related to anxiety, and it has done wonders for me. Maybe look into taking a benzodiazepine AS DIRECTED. Benzos are also notorious for causing rapid tolerance build up and addiction. The doctor will probably try to push anti-depressants onto you stating that it's anxiety caused by depression, don't buy this, of course unless it's the truth. Maybe look into taking a blood pressure med like lisinopril also. The smartest and only rational thing that people on here can tell you is to contact your doctor or the ER immediately.

Thanks for this m8. So if anxiety isn't caused by depression then what causes it?

I'm glad you asked me this as alot of health professionals have it backwards. Depression isn't always caused by anxiety and anxiety isn't always caused by depression. Alot of people, like me, have bad anxiety, but it's attributed to nerves and not sadness. So you could have anxiety with no depression at all. That's why I think the first line treatment of anti depressants is a cop out by many doctors who regularly do this. They want to believe that just because you're anxious and a nervous wreck, you are for some reason depressed. It doesn't make sense. Like I said earlier, I have an anxiety disorder that has nothing to do with depression.

Anxiety can be caused by a number of factors, most notably, high tension, high blood pressure, it could be a generational disorder passed down through your family. Anxiety can also be caused by past drug use. I've noticed that through my years of doing mdma, it has caused me tremendous anxiety as it probably depleted the necessary serotonin I needed to balance my mood and nervous system. Anxiety is generally seen as a lack of serotonin and dopamine in your brain. But this doesn't always mean that drugs can cause this miswiring in your brain chemistry, like I said, it could be handed down genetically.

Thanks. I do know my mum has very high blood pressure;she never drinks coffee and takes meds I think.

Are there any adverse side effects of these drugs?

I can`t honestly say with any shred of knowledge in me this was caused solely by coke. The Meph probably played a huge killer roll, and I wouldn`t rule out anxiety either. You say you`ve been noticing these palpitations since your last dose, explain what you mean by this. Are you sitting there driving along and all the sudden `Shit my heart just palpitated!` or are you cruising down thinking `is my heart palpitating? am I getting palpitations right now? Oh look, I am indeed!`

If its the latter, not the former, than you should have nothing to worry about. These are whats called a regular heart palpitation. Basically if you look for it, you will find it. It should only be cause of worry when you`re not looking for it, and it finds you. That is an irregular palpitation.
