I have read a report about a guy converting freebase to hcl... For oral dosing. Is this necessary? How much better is a compound absorbed as a salt, orally? I'm getting a g of DPT freebase, and soon some psilacetin freebase, was just wondering if I should convert any to hcl for my oral use (may for insufflation anyways).

Freebase compounds are converted to the HCl salt in the stomach. Hence converting f/b to salts is unnecesary for oral use.

The salts of tryptamines are generally about 80% as strong as the freebases due to the added acid molecule. (depends on the exact acid used, and the compound). Salts are also considered to be more stable (more resistant to degradation), esp. the 4-substituted tryptamines.
