hello !

the use of this quite evil substance make me worry.
restarted 7 months ago
since i am quite integrated socially by means of a decent job, the use is not yet out of control, and probably will stay like this : one night binge once a week.

The problem is : it is unhealthy and deregulates the reward system
it is expensive. it makes me stop caring about a lot of personal tasks and i procrastinate.
It does not affect me negatively at work too much however. in fact i prefer going to work monday than doing quite nothing on week-ends. so there is a social impact nevertheless
It makes me feel that i am wasting some kind of potential, (and remorse, guilt etc...) (i am not depressed at this time however)

FYI, i was a bupe user for 2 years in 2008 and 8 months in 2012 @ 2/3mg day . WDs were quite difficult but managed.

I am thinking of going back to bupe to feel good/productive at evenings and not bored (boredom seems the main trigger for freebase use) : lesser of two evils, even if physically addicting.

i know that i should not ask "what to take" but since it is with good intentions, i am wondering too if a cleaner stim could be an option to switch to. (in a daily use pattern / or in case of cravings).

any contribution welcome.

Ok. I think its really food that you want to stop hurting yourself; many wish they caught themselves so early as you on the merry-go-round of abuse and degradation. So, assuming I can't convince you to get clean, you seek recommendations of more safe stimulants than crack? For starters, pharmaceuticals are generally more safe in that you can control your dosage and usually have safer cuts.

If you feel you still need bupe then I see no reason to not at least consult a doctor about it. It is definitely more safe than smoking crack. But maybe you have a psychiatric issue going on. There is actually a really good medication out there that has the potential to stop your cravings called Wellbutrin. Ask your doctor about it. It, being a cathinone, has a similar mechanism as Cocaine. Its been shown to help stimulant addicts stay clean (not calling you one, just saying). Technically Wellbutrin is an anti-depressant but it fulfills many functions.:)

good luck

Crack can really be one hell of a drug with some horrible side effects.

I started out smoking crack in very similar circumstances and that once a week routine quickly turned into several nights a week. I finally had to cut all contacts with anyone I knew who smoked that shit.

I wouldn't recommend switching to any stim or any other drug for cravings because that's just going to lead you down the wrong path.

+1 This

You're not craving the drug for the drug, you're craving the feelings produced.(well you are craving the drug, but you get my drift).
Replacing your crack with another stim isn't going to solve that.

If you're set on using, i'd recommend amphetanine. Pharmaceutical would be the best,, things like adderrall etc...
If you don't have acess to anything like that, average amphetamine (street speed), is another option. Though potency varies greatly and can be cut to high hell.

In honesty daily use of any stim really isn't good for you. Tolerance builds, comrdowns become unbearable and you eventually lose all euphoria which is just replaced with a need to get high. When the high has been immensely diminshed.

Think about it.
It isn't going to be doing your heart any favours.
Stick to treating yourself at the weekends. All stims will fuck your reward system when abused.

Don't mean to lecture, just know the dark road stims can lead you down.
Keep safe man, its good you want to get off the crack.
Positive thinking.

Peace

The way I quit my coke habit, that was quickly forming into a freebasing habit (I'd throw in some baking soda and smoke my coke more often then I'd snort it by the end), was to delete all my dealers, and anyone who I could get their #'s from, and just anyway to get access of the drug. Since then, I've been nearly 15 weeks cleans, aside from 1 small relapse where I did 2 lines.

I smoked about 30g of VERY high purity freebase cocaine in less than three weeks. I had no benzos, and the withdrawal was hell, but this is what I did: made sure there was no cocaine (even residue) or paraphrenalia in the house, deleted the dealers' numbers from my phone (although I could easily score it 200m away on a street corner), and stayed home for a week.
I took amphetamines at low doses to ease the cravings, and levomepromazine (methotrimeprazine, I think, in the States - an old antipsychotic) every night to sleep for about a week.

Then I was clean.

Good luck. It's the most addictive drug I've ever been on. And I was determined not to use it all when I started out.

Switching a non-pshyically addicting drug that you can honestly just stop taking to a physically addicting one seems really stupid to me. What are you planning on doing when the buprenorphine loses it's effects (which will happen in just a week or two) and you are stuck with cravings for crack+an opioid addiction on top of that?
