Hey everyone!

A group of us, including a psychiatrist, a psychedelic therapist, and psychedelic researchers, made a free tool that helps people prep for a psychedelic experience.

You choose your substance, answer a few questions about where you’re at mentally and physically, and it gives you a custom guide with timelines, safety notes, set and setting reminders, and integration tips.

Not a substitute for therapy or a trusted sitter, just a tool we wished existed to help people go in a little more prepared, especially when the experience turns challenging, so it’s totally free.

You can try it here:

Please share your feedback, it means a lot to us.

Hi, I tried it to see the results, and the submit quiz button does not seem to be working for me (mobile iOS).

Cool looking tool though. One thing is that I feel like the “experience level” ceiling is a bit low. Personally, it wasn’t until ~20+ trips in that I had a challenging experience, and my only “bad trip” was much later than that. I’m not sure how that would affect the stratification of your recommendations.

Edit: I was able to get it to work on the desktop version of the site. I did my report focused on ketamine and here are some of my thoughts:

First off, I kind of feel that listing the low/medium/high/heroic doses where high and heroic are given in IM/IV doses is not my favorite thing ever. I have a pretty hard boundary regarding self administered drugs and injection, and it would be nice to see comparative insufflated doses for the whole scale (also it would make comparing doses easier with the same ROA). Rectal dosing is a pretty good way to achieve higher doses of ketamine without clogging the schnozz.

For the pharmacology section, I think it’s a touch important to mention that ketamine is a really decent NDRI under all of the NMDA pore blocking. This is relevant in that it affects sleep after the trip, and is the reason that MAOIs would be contraindicated.

I’m not sure what an “alco stimulant” is. I’m assuming it means alcohol based on the blurb below.

I could see maybe mentioning that ketamine can be kind of compulsive compared to psychedelics (5ht2a agonists). I’m not sure if this would be useful to warn about or if it would plant an idea that would promote binge-like use.

I don’t know if I would recommend having candles lit during a high end K-hole. Seems kind of like a fire hazard.

Finally I think it could be worthwhile to allude to the fact that higher doses of ketamine get really weird, and abstracted. Most of my ketamine experiences are much less “floating down a river” and much more “becoming part of some big machine full of tubes”.

All and all it is a pretty cool tool, and I think especially valuable to people trying to dip their toes into the psychedelic experience. I might try playing around with some various decision trees to see what other results get spit out sometime.
