As of late I am having a lot of health problems due to my daily methamphetamine use, and I really need to see a doctor and have a physical, possibly EKG and blood work.

In the past I have always gone to my first pediatrican and then general docxtor doctor who have known my history (have been an addict for 5 1/2 years, gone through rehab many times). . I have health insurance but it's through my parents so any visits to the hospital/doctor are visible to them. My parents finding out, or my doctor who is connected to my therapist is not OK because for many reasons which I won't go into rehab is not an option this week/month, but is something I am working on for the future.

I basically just want to make sure that my heart and body are not SEVERELY not ok right now... so here are a few questions as I don't know anything about free clinics (I'm in California):

-can I still be treated at a free clinic if I have insurance?

-does "free" extend to testing services?

-can they arrest/comitt me if I test positive or admit I'm actively using drugs?

-should I just say basically "I'm a daily meth user can you please give me a check up to tell me how severely fucked up my body is at the moment?": :\

Just lie and say you don't have insurance. I've been to "free" clinics. It's "free" at the time. They do take down your credit/debit number and months later ripped $150 for the visit. But I don't live in CA. University clinics are usually very cheap.

They didn't check for me, they just took my word. Then I walked across the street and paid for the meds with insurance. Call your insurance company and re-route all your med and insurance bills maybe?
